maximum binkage
« on: June 22, 2006, 07:39:29 pm »
I'm sure it has happened to all of you before:  Something weird happened (maybe more often with spas) and you got shot (maybe died and upon respawn it happened) and your cursor is GIGANTIC.  It's so big that you have to wait approximately 30 seconds maybe more until your cursor returns to normal state.  I think there should be a maximum bink level and if one already exists then it should be a lot smaller than currently.

Afterall, it's not like that in real life:  in real life the time it takes for you to recover from a bullet hit (or any type of hit) is not proportional to how often/much you got hit... it simply is a matter of time independently...
Can't think of anything original to put here...

No, that only sets the sensitivity to bink, not the maximum allowed.

This doesn't really ever happen to me (I use barret), but I guess it would be annoying so why not..

Well, it kinda is actually, :P but I see your point. Support for this.

I believe the max bink is 255, which is only 4.25 seconds. My guess is that happens when the client misunderstands the server's message, or maybe even combines the packets, which would mean the bink would take up 2 bytes, thus, the player's max bink could be 65536, roughly 18 minutes. Of course, it's very rare to come across having 255 bink, so the massive cursor bug usually wouldn't last that long.

NOTE: Everything I just said is speculation. However, MM should make it so that bink is reset once the soldaten dies.

Yes, I nkow what he means, like when you get hit by a bunch of spray in R/S, and your Barret takes ages to get back to normal aim, it should be like 1.5 - 3 second recovery after last shot roughly.

actually, a bigger problem is that bullets that have been in the air for a long time and out of nowhere hit you, give you extra more bink which makes absolutely no sense...

this is more on self-bink
Heres a "bug" or something to fix: grab ANY auto (preferably mp5) and spray. When its time to reload DO NOT let go of the button, just keep holding it down, your cursor will get massive.
screen:

so you better let go after spraying ;) because self-bink stays AFTER reload.

I've never had this problem because I don't spray. -_- My cursor has gotten large sometimes because of bink, but not that massive.

I've had my cursor so big the center dot fills half the screen.  That was a little creepy.

That was a bug or something from last version. I remember getting it on storm.
