Need various help.
« on: January 13, 2007, 04:04:52 pm »
Ok, I need some various help with Soldat Ded. Servers.

First up the info:
Op. System: Windows XP with DX 9.0
Server version: 2.5.2
Firewall not in use.
Results from the Port Check Test:
Quote
Soldat Connection Tester - by EnEsCe
OK. Please wait while we test your port configuration... (This may take up to 2 minutes)

Step One: Ingame Connectivity Test
Sending PING test to 84.248.52.151 on UDP Port 23073... PASS! (179ms)
Sending REQUEST test to 84.248.52.151 on UDP Port 23073... PASS!
Sending JOIN GAME test to 84.248.52.151 on UDP Port 23073... PASS!
Step Two: All-Seeing Eye Test
Sending test to 84.248.52.151 on UDP Port 23196... PASS! (179ms)
Step Three: Remote Administration
Sending test to 84.248.52.151 on TCP Port 23073... FAILED!
Step Four: Map Download Connections
Sending test to 84.248.52.151 on TCP Port 23083... PASS!

TEST RESULTS:
- Total Passed: 5/6
- UDP Check: check
- ASE Check: check
- Admin Check: error
- Download Check: check
- Final Test Result: FAILED! Please check your network configuration.

So, how can I fix those Test results?

Now:

The settings in my Soldat.ini keep changing back everytime, like Admin pass. How can I stop that?

How can I set up a bot in the game which makes stuff like: Admins me, keeps up statistics etc.

Can I set up a server which doesn't shut down if my comp does?

(doesn't have anything with the servers, but I think it does) When i try to play Soldat, the game doesn't show in Full-Screen, and when I try to join in a server, it says "Can't join in server. Dedicated mode is on." or sth.

Is it possible to have multiple server connections?

Is it possible to have multiple server setting files?

How can I add scripts in the servers?

How can I use ARSE?(or however it's spelled, lol) It doesn't seem to work with me.

Ensure TCP Port 23073 is forwarded through your router. The rest looks to be setup fine.

Shutdown the server before changing settings. Also, as noted below, do not install the dedicated server in the same directory as the client, and it is highly recommended that you do not use the dedicated server built into the client.

You could just run ARSSE; it auto admins you while you are connected and keeps track of a few things.

Only by buying a server through a dedicated hosting company; logically, it's impossible to host your own server if your computer isn't running. There are a few different hosting options right now if you are willing to pay.

1) Make sure, if you use the dedicated server, that you DO NOT install it to the same directory as your soldat client.
2) Make sure you aren't starting your soldat client with the shortcut to the built in dedicated server, and that in soldat.ini dedicated=0.

Of course.

Yes; you just need to start the dedicated server with some command line arguments.

Check out the scripting help section, it has some help. If you need more help beyond what is shown, just ask. Also look in the script releases forum for some pre-made scripts.

If you are running it on the same computer as you are hosting, connect via 127.0.0.1. As your port test results show above, connecting to your external IP will not work as the remote administration port is not forwarded properly.

Ok, in order:

Didn't work. Now it shows that all failed :(

Seems like it worked, thanks.

I don't know how to use it :(

I see.

Worked.

Cool.

I think you understood it wrong. I meant like multiple soldat.in files which makes the server automated like different.(So I don't need to put them myselves everytime.)

Ok.

It didn't work.

I thought I'd just jump in here.

I don't know how far you got in using ARSSE but basically check out this thread. http://forums.soldat.pl/index.php?topic=179.0 Download it. Run it. And type in ip:127.0.0.1 port: 23073 Click Connect. Then well done, you logged in.

IIRC to have different configuration files for servers, you can use the /loadcon command while the server is running. (Eg. if you have like a zombie.ini in the same folder as the soldatserver type /loadcon zombie.ini) <-I think that's correct.

Post any problems you have with that.
Hope it helps

The port forwarding configuration screen for your router, if you have one.
If you haven't forwarded the ports properly then look here for instructions.

It was for the best...

Retry the port tester and paste the results.

I see I can play it now. I'll ask more help if I can't play it anymore.

Date Posted: February 08, 2007, 10:23:09 AM
Ok, now it seems working fine, although I can only see it when I don't have anything special in the filters.

Any way to fix that?

Date Posted: February 09, 2007, 06:09:35 PM
Well, now it sometimes doesn't show up.

And when a 10-min match is up, there comes a connection problems and the server says: "List index out of bounds"
What do I do?
