hi guys!

My name is Ragnaros and i need your help in creation of new MOD for Soldat.
(this mod was inspired by one awesome game: SurvivalCrysisZ. sry dont have a link)

at the moment i need some things to complete and to release my mod:
1)new good interface cause my own is not very original
2)new gosteks! for zombies and survivals! art-works can be found at my last post in this topic
3)suggestions for replacement of Stat.Gun
4)amazing idea from LordFruncamunch! the Scripts!
assumed class-system is in my latest post below.

It would be desirable to learn your opinion apropos "for what am i doing all of this", about the idea of the mod (it is clear that it not new (i mean the idea), I even would tell absolutely not new) well etc.

so the most important thing that I ALREADY HAVE READY FILES for all the weapons AND maps.

Yes yes, you have not misheard! HUGE FOLDER of scenery-gfx and the sea of Textures for whole mappack is ready to be used!
And a lot of pics for the backgrounds etc etc etc...

Im looking for the team to finish my mod.
The weapons are almost completed.

ok. here, hold: the Plot!

Its the summer of ' 99, in the slum part of the city...
hey it's all you can afford right now. Hot, rainy nights, unbearable humidity.

Then things went weird.

Your neighbor's dog was usually a bit much, but biting a half pound chunk of flesh out of the mailman was not what you'd expected.
They put the mutt down, gave the poor mailman some rabies shot,
it was a great story to tell at the bar.
But the next time you saw the mailman's eyes.....


vacant white......

rimmed with crusted blood......

maybe he was taking revenge on the neighbour.
You saw him sink his teeth into her neck.

He was making his rounds, she had come out to offer a batch of I'm-sorry-my-dog-bit-you cookies...

...


when suddenly he began to convulse.

You saw it all from your second story window.

He twitched, coughed, puked.

Then he lurched.

After that you spent quite a bit of time indoors.
People were bit, then they changed.
First it was a bloodbath, then it was a mob. Humans became the minority.
After a week of horrors, as seen through your window, you decided to return to what's left of society in hopes of, for starters, survival.




You equip yourself with the tools of the trade, along with some stuff you've
picked up here and there, and head out into the chaos.

If you were interested by this "MOD" more precisely its prospect and in other if you simply love all these films about zombies, epidemics and killing viruses (and small group of people surviving in this nightmare) let me know!

a lil update to the story:
Marauders, terrorists, drug lords and heroes are all equals here.
They are all either one of us or one of them, warm-blooded or cold,
survivors or monsters.     

No one knows why people started eating each other, or what the government was doing about it.
SWAT team members began arriving in choppers, but they seemed
more interested in saving themselves than any of the locals.
One misunderstanding like this led to another, and soon the Rebellion was born.
                                                   
                                                 
Given the state of things, it was understandable that the locals began
stockpiling arms.
Armed locals, armed outsiders, and a bucketload of
mistrust just don't mix:
SWAT and Rebel forces became as deadset at destroying each other as at destroying the zombies.
                                                   
                                                   
Fortunately, a corpse created from a cross-fire doesn't get up again...

Prepare to survive...

But where's YOUR Graphical work, I see that you collected things from that game, but you should make it on your own, because that stuff is from the game, so you cannot use it without permision.

about permission. i know the guy from totallyscrewed.net(developers)
they are closing this project so the problems will not follow, he said it is going to be an opened source  :P

all my job will be here after some days
All the stuff will be converted and remade, accustomed to Soldat.
The help with Gosteks and simple TESTING is necessary
all your ideas (rational and worthing my time) will be embodied in this project

And MAPS! you can see a lot of textures and sceneries in attachment!

+ it is important to learn your opinion concerning balance of guns (weapons.ini is coming soon)

almost forgot. BOTS!
-Zombie
(nothing special, fists only)

(favourite weapon is knife, camping sometimes)


-Zombie-butcher
(you will never guess... he uses the chainsaw)


-The Infected
(like a simple zombie but he can pick up the weapons luying on the
ground cause he still have some brains)

bots are ready. ill test them, then upload.


1st one: the interface. who will take it? health, ammo and jets
the 2nd: the gosteks(skins)... idk how to make a good one

Well, I'm really interested into something like this. I was plannin' to make a Left4Dead mod. Lately I'm playin' it really much.

Oh, and with what do you need help anyway ? I can't make an interface since I'm not good at it. Gosteks, damn... blame me but with gosteks I'm crappy as well. Try to ask Espadon.

Henito Kisou's more the person for Zombie themed stuff. I imagine he'd be pretty interested in doing more zombie gosteks.

Won't work unless you mask it with something like the jet-icon file which will require the interface to be opaque and ugly.

You could probably use the pipe bomb for the grenade. The ripped zombie sprites are waaay to big to use in Soldat, though.

And what about using dual revolvers for the deagles and keep the pistol as the SOCOM? The fire rates fit better that way.

*edit* Also, are you planning to script anything like SCZ's class system?

i agree that SOCOm is fine... maybe ill just add a laser sight...

i know that everything is possible with scripting... but if I knew at least one script...
maybe it looks like a joke but ANY SCRIPTERS HERE?!
(idea is very nice! Why I have not thought at once of it?!)

[the system is very simple i think]
Classes:
1)The Doctor
-regeneration
-spawn midikit

2)The Bartender
-spawn vest
-spawn grenades box

3)The Clerk
-place C4 explosive (like a mine)
-invisibility (predator)

4)The Hunter
-chance of critical strike (2x dmg)
-berserker

5)The Hacker
-spawn clusters (=emp bomb in mod)
-average regeneration

and no weapons specification ;D
maybe someone can do it for my PB server?

Dont forget that real scripts doesn't exist in Soldat, only at server side (online).

You'll probably want to make a separate discussion about server scripts in the script area so that you can get more attention. Modding area primarily deals with clientside issues.
