For a player in general yes, but for a background player? All you do is hear the music. The only needed(or wanted imo) are the ones pertaining to the quality of music and ordering of the music that's played. Once again, just my opinion though.

Winamp with global hotkeys - only and forevar. :D
I know it's pretty heavy on resources, but my computer seems to handle it fine.

Playlists? Music on my computer? Radio?
Not sure what you meant - I just add the music i want to listen, or make a playlist with "Soldat music", turn on shuffling and start playing.
