I was reading a topic from "Yes" and it was "What country is hated the most" and mostly everybody said "America" and im just wondering...Why?

Bear in mind that the thread was not an expression of people personal feelings towards said country, but rather an estimate of what tops the score of hated countries.

The reason why I said America/the states, and I'm assuming most people are thinking the same, is a lot of the global hatred that's been sturred up due to the Afghani and Iraqi campaigns is directed towards the United States. They appear as a sort of 'face' for the koalition and its allied nations across the world, and as such it's bound to harvest the prejudice and bad feelings that comes along with it. Not really fair, at least not all the time, ut that's how it goes.

The reason is because America has over the last 120 years steadily turned itself from a quite average nation into a symbol of excess capitalism, excess patriotism, excess industry and excess greed.

Big meals, big cars, big houses, big people. America is the face of obesity, uneducation, war, unquestioning patriotism, financial corruption, and fast food. It has a saturated, patriotic and biased media that reinforces the idea that America is the best country in the world.

America will forever be known as the first nation who used nuclear weapons against civilians. America will forever be known as the nation who waged war against communism.

There are huge differences between America and the rest of the developed world...
