Warm&stroke textures
« on: May 03, 2009, 06:31:12 am »
This modification is inspired by cell-shaded mod.
  • textures' edges similar to cell-shaded mod ones, but made them all 1px
  • some blur and color fixes on default soldat textures
  • jet fire gfx changed
  • textures look smooth and warm
  • if you don't got antialiasing enabled or you don't play in 640x480, edges will blink and look bad; solution: don't copy the /edges/ folder

Don't replace your textures folder with the one in this download, it's missing the Objects subdirectory (if you do, you'll have to re-download them, or you wont be able to see the flag or any pickup boxes, you can still see the flag stick though)

Otherwise, it looks okay with 4x AA, without it the edges are very pixelated

Player since late 2007

Hehe, try 12x AA

Anyway, why not replace the textures folder?  It wouldn't overwrite the sub directories.  It just updates the specific files within w/e folder your copying files into.

Indeed, there's no risk to loose any files.

About the antialiasing: yes, you're right, I'll add the info about it to main post. Anyway, I did not think someone might still play without AA, it's XXI century... :P.

Hm, I have no idea, it should be ok. Do you play on fullscreen? You might consider using the textures only (and default /edges/) OR get /edges/ from cell-shaded mod (they are 1 px higher, should not cause rendering problems even without antialiasing).

Your post is very entertaining.

Mods like this are missing here like salt. It very nice I have to say. Seriously good job on those textures. And I know I won't say strong words when I admit this as official replace of the textures.

Good job.

I'm pretty sure these works only for 640X480.
