Fix what you have Broken
« on: April 14, 2010, 09:20:37 pm »
Lag Spikes that renders the game unplayable when a player connects or dies.
Random Suicides when somoene joins the server.
Huge lag when rendering semi invinceble Sprites.
Random Battle Eye kicking "Player Hacking" "Client Not Responding".
I don't understand
do you mean that there is a /faceplam commmand ?
and this command should drop a random item ?

Player Hacking should be obvious ... corrupted memory and game hack are also related to the players client and not to the server. Client not responding is just a way to clean the server from people with too high ping, come on.

Lags depend on A) your connection B) the servers connection and C) how many players are connected. You should know lags from other games ... in any MMORPG you will have huge lage spikes in areas where many players are. That counts for Soldat as for any other game.

Never got FPS drops for some predator.

Either it´s your connection or you have one crappy pc I assume.

Bad coding also add's some 'heavy' advantage to lags.

That's all true, but unplayable? Only for some players, but not everyone.

And those "random" Battleye kicks are not really random. When battleye requests information from a player and doesn't receive it after a certain time (player's computer/soldat/internet froze) - that player gets kicked.

Hack kicks - I wouldn't call it "broken", it's just not perfect. Every anti-hack kicks innocent players from time to time. It's a computer after all, it can't decide who's really hacking or not. Like the "knife hack", when you just happen to be standing in a spot with lots of knives and you start picking them all up and throwing around - server could recognize it as infinite-knives hack, and you get kicked.

I never experienced any lags with maps using to many FX or rain and all of a sudden i get terrible Lags when i play a map that has overstretched fx rain or many polygons.

there are 2 differend lags i get. the one is where the screen freezes for a phew seconds
and the other one is when the game starts to run in slow motion the last one is the most anoying one.

Also the hack kick doesnt other me mush but the Client not responding thing does
I don't understand

The thing you are experiencing is called FPS drop. They occur on maps with (many) .png scenery objects, polygons (semitransparent polygons lag even more) and maps with a lot of scenery with opacity.

Well I just updated my grafic-card drivers and have got anoying lags now, the game freeze for about 1 sec. Maybe Soldat is incompatible with the newest Nvidia drivers.
