A question about the LAW's smoke trail.

I'm trying to make the law shoot a nyan cat, I've got the missile working great but I'd like it much more if I could get the smoke trail to be a rainbow. First I don't know which files to mod, second I don't know if the trail will look right if you aim it up (since the images won't turn). I'd also like any advice on how long the song should play with each firing of the law.

smoke.bmp in sparks-gfx I believe. You're right that it won't turn; you might have to make rainbow balls with concentric rings of color or something. I suppose you could try making the M2 shoot rainbows [maybe a pony cannon that shits rainbows?] since last time I checked explosives all used the M2-bullet as their trail. I haven't modded anything beyond 1.4 so I don't know if they changed that or not though.

M2 trail is used for M2 (who would guess ), M79 and grenade projectiles.

As Espadon said - to make rainbow look ok with rocket flyin' in every direction, smoke should be made as circle (like bowing target?). Also smoke can't be too big as it's showed in game from left top corner and it would screw up with bigger size.

'Bout sound - no good method, if it would be in fire sound slot, as I remember well, it'll be played as long as you'll hold fire button, pre-shoot idle sound is played till shoot.

If bullet traces used existing images - then it might've been possible. But unfortunately I think it's just hard-coded solid color. Maybe the devs could make it possible if it's not difficult?

Uh.. I don't know then. :/ I just know I haven't found any graphics for trails, just for bullets themselves.

Im pretty sure that the yellow M79 is also a hardcoded trail, but i could be wrong there.

M79 is hardcoded and the colour is dependant on the colour of the bullet. At least from my experience
