I enjoy realistic mode (especially infil) a lot more than the normal. It puts more strategy and position of your team. Normal mode is still fun, but everyone is usually flying all over the map.

lol, dont read that bit thought we were talkin about survival
but could someone help me out with the bottom question
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dodgeball has to have survival on because its the only way teams can score points, without it you'd have to capture flags..
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Does anyone have the dodgeball mod like the one of [eC]Dodgeball #1 [ as in the way the knife can get throw further than usual?

I like normal mode more. Its so fast paced. Its just like BAM BAM BAM BAM BOOM!!! TEDTEDTETDTETDTETDTETDT BLAM! BOOM! BOOOM!!!!!BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then again, I loved trenchwars when it was on elite and for some reason i had decent ping. If only australia had a trench war server.

I used to play realistic a little especially on the cs maps with r/s/a settings, but now I only play non-realism..

True, it does tend to require more skill in realism. However, I find that the disappearing and reappearing players (when they are the other side of a polygon) a little frustrating at times... Especially with lag where they seem to just appear out of nowhere. There are also times on certain maps where people appear invisible when they are clearly in view.

If I had my way I'd say it'd be better if the realistic field of view was optional with realism.

I like both types, though I tend to play more non-realistic games just because those are the games there.
I enjoy survival Deathmatch and Realistic Infiltration a lot.

What about us who stopped playing realistic mode?

I used to be a realistic only CTF player (on Leos..:P), but after time I started playing normal in U13 INF. I'm fine with either, I just don't like how short you live in realistic.

..That, and realistic sucks for chainsaw rushers, and rushers in general..:(

We all know there are no serious normal mode Soldat clans. ;o

Rest of the thread sums it up pretty well, its really personal preference. Theres no reason to play a game-type you don't enjoy. Only real upside to one way over the other is the amount of other players interested in it, and obviously normal-mode CTF wins out here.

Yes, because dying when you accidentally use your jet boots with unlimited fuel in a tunnel and hit the ceiling while reloading your minigun with the unlimited supply of 100-round belts you have in your pants but cannot link together into a single, unlimited belt is incredibly realistic.
Seriously, Realistic mode kinda feels like what would happen if you invented jet boots that have unlimited fuel, found a way to have an unlimited number of clips shoved into your pants, bought an assault rifle and did not practice with it, decided to prevent your movement along the Z-axis and then decided to go play Capture the Flag with similar friends. Okay, fine. I just don't like how you sometimes die from "fall damage" when you don't actually fall. And the recoil is kinda annoying too. Any moron who can get their hands on heavy weapons should practice with it until it doesn't jump out of their hands before engaging the enemy.

Normal mode. If you're going to have miniguns, jet boots and unlimited amounts of clips, let's make everything else reflect this, too.
Though the occasional Realistic game does help to improve my accuracy.

I love realistic for its pure speed and skill, in normal you can shoot someone for a long-ish (to me) period of time and I find it takes too long to kill with autos, in realistic you gotta multi task, jump, prone and shoot in mid air, winner lands on his feet (with jets!) all in a few moments, plenty of running around and fast kills, accuracy counts for more with autos. Not saying that it doesn't take skill to play on normal...
