scopability
« on: April 07, 2007, 06:45:22 pm »
Uhh, even though I wouldn't use it I'm sure modders would like it:
A modding ability to add scope-function to any gun.  If scope is activated, it would need to values - one for scope zoom while crouched (barret's is x1.33) and one for while proning (barret's is x1.5).  Simple idea ;D
Can't think of anything original to put here...

sounds good. WOuld be great for some of the futuristic mods. image a map where barret had no drop, and you could zoom in like 5 screens. A super long range battle! could be way fun.

I'd like it just to get actual sniping matches. The current 1.5x zoom is woefully inadequate if you ask me...

I like this idea - both adding scope for any weapon and and choosing possible zoom.

it should like be:

scope=1,2,3 (1=anywhere,2=crouching,3=prone)
scopeamount=x (x=meters to scope)

I already covered both these things - one value is for how much times zoom while crouching, one while proning - if u don't want one for crouching just type 1 for 1 time zoom which is no zoom.  Don't use meteres - use amount of times.  2 means twice as far as normal vision (two screens) and like 1.5 is like an extra half screen (~22.5m).  It's that simple!

:P Why?
I have no idea how he does the zoom on Barrett, so if I'm wrong then kill me, but it seems like this would be fairly easy to implement.

I'd prefer to see the new version out and not have something tacked on at the very end of the beta, it'd be buggy and untested, or it'd add too much wait that's not needed currently.

Weve already waited >6 months, would adding on a few more weeks to test this really make a difference? I see where you are coming from but this could really be neat and even if it's buggy servers could not use it and it would be fine.
