War Arsenal Weapons MOD
« on: October 19, 2007, 10:16:55 pm »
My very first MOD, it'll change all weapons (except flamer, minigun, chainsaw, m2 and rambo bow). This is my first MOD, so, if u like it (or not) post here, any feedback would be greatly apreciated.

PS: There is a folder named "#Alternate weapons" inside the MOD directory, i've included a M60 minigun replacement prototype if u want it.

Oh,i forgot to say why i put this name in the MOD, well, that's cause i have no name to put in it (I accept suggestions)

NOTE: In this MOD the weapons have NO recoil, in both normal and realistic mode.

Seriously not bad for a first mod!
The colors are blocky, though. It is possible to shade with paint. Check out some of the tutorials in the modding help section

How many people do pixelart/sprites, are possible many, many ways to do pixelart sprites. There's no two people using same style or technique to make it good (except copying). Skykanden, Yamo, Espadon, Dairy, Papasurf - just different modders with different ideas how to do pixelart and good sprites. You are limited only by your patience and imagination, everything is possible in many, many personal ways, so dont say because it's MS Paint, with that simple program you can imitate real pictures, make texture shading, real shading, drawing or painting shading, art shading (me, but not always based at real world), comic shading, like-game shading, photo (realistic) shading etc. Discover your style possibilities, use imagination, be cereative.

Not a problem! I'm actually kinda really liking the pseudo cel-shading of this one. You know...there's a ton of those shaded modern weapon mods out there. Don't feel the need to conform too much, man.

Some highlights might be a nice touch though. ;)

I like this. Especially the shape of that carbine (and that bazooka). ;)

Despite there's not much shading and detail.. I still really like it.
Some guns are to big/small compared to the others.
The only gun I don't like is the carbine =/ It looks ugly.
Keep trying!

I don't like the way you've used the mp5 three times like that... But pretty good for a first mod. And paint is really good for shading, I think it's a lot more "accurate" than paint shop pro or something similar (that's because I never had the patience to learn how to use them :P).

Now for the constructive criticism, the bazooka doesn't fit the interface area which really hurts the eye and the benelli's barrel is too short imo. Remember, if you re-shade one weapon, you have to do it to everyone to keep your style the same ;)
