I don't believe that's how the M79 works though. It just sort of plops out. There's no rocket propulsion unlike in the M72
PFFT. Silly details and realism. Back in NES days guns shot massive glowing green and pink balls. Surely a shooter like Soldat could at least do with a thin smoke trail for an M79 rounds even if it doesn't quite make sense?
There's a difference between realism and characteristics. The weapons certainly don't need to be shackled by boring realism in order for you to feel like you're holding a [weapon name] in your hands. But they need to follow at least '80s Hollywood action movie logic:
* AKs are reliable and versatile, yet inaccurate
* Western world assault rifles are extremely accurate
* Shotguns deal phenomenal damage up close and can send people flying back
* Machine guns can be carried around by shirtless Austrians to mow down generic South American soldiers
* Miniguns can be carried around by robotic Austrians to mow down police cars
* Handguns never needs to be reloaded
* Grenade launchers lob explosive shells!
This isn't realism. It's just basic Hollywood knowledge.
