Her eyes are actually kind of ambiguous there; I'd say the biggest indicator that she's not on the computer is that both of her hands are on her book. (Also, you can't see it, but the computer monitor isn't facing her.)

But dang, without the context of knowing the characters, I admit that scene is kind of depressing. But, if it's any consolation, the image sat on my computer for quite a while and I never noticed a thing wrong with it (or at least, that thing wrong with it) because that's totally how that girl would act. In fact, she wasn't even the one who put that hat on her head.

In short: watch Haruhi. It has just been released on Blu-ray.

@low: yeah. Disappearance is so good that even the fact that I watched it in camrip-eyecancer-quality didn't matter.

And there's a movie coming out on in two weeks or so that's pretty much the high point of the entire 10 novel series. It's where the scene in my wallpaper is from, actually.

Never looked at it that way, since I watched the anime, but yeah.. It is kind of depressing if you don't know what's going on. D:

I wanna watch the 2nd season, but the english dub of the first season was way too awesome, and now I really don't feel like watching the japanese version and reading subtitles. :S
