The karma system sucks ass and doesn't work, and the stubborn dictator staff isn't going to remove or change it.

Get used to it.

Blazesign, people tend to smite newer members of the community for several reasons, usually when the poster doesn't write with proper grammar or spelling.  If you hang in there long enough, chances are that you'll eventually be accepted into the community and people will stop messing with your karma.

Laser Guy, positive karma is better.

It doesn't really matter who smites you. Anyone will smite you because they feel like it.

The karma system is anonymous, meaning you can change a members karma and no-one would know it was you, so that's not likely to happen.

Personally though, I think the karma system probably isn't as anonymous as the moderators make out, they like to be sneaky in their spare time you see.

I think that karma is messed, with jrgp as my example. Hes an awesome guy and his karma is... well... really low. My karma has gone up to 5 and back down to 0 again in the past while.

This is because there are idiots out there with brains even smaller than mine. Beware of them, ignore them, and hope that the karma system can be reset, or a better system comes out.

maybe if you took a peek at the "Warning level V" you would realise why people don't think highly of you?

Karma is not a measure of helpfulness. it is all popularity, as most things tend to be. Look at jrgp, so what if he had "SMITE ME" in his signature, we all know we would have smitted him even more if he had "APPLAUD ME!" Besides, he didn't put that up until after he had negative karma. Most people's top karma was either 1 or zero.

Like i said before, smite me all you want, but it would be hilarious to have -404 karma.

You don't have warning levels, and yet you have -98 karma. What I can say is this: the Karma system is structurally sound. It is great that you have to wait 72 hours until you can either applaud or smite the same person again. But it is flawed only in that there are hundreds of members out there that have two days of absence, log in, smite someone, log out. :( It's also flawed because the karma and smiting system is a link. :|
You might be able to find the culprits who smite people too many times, but it might take a while, because, well, it is the internet here and people feel safe that nobody will come to their doorstep and pop them.

Well Blue Ninja the reason you are being smited is because you are posting to much. You HAVE TO REPLY to almost every topic even though you have nothing important to say. You were on a topic making spree a week or two ago... People get annoyed by that ya  know :P. I am not a smiter and I really don't care about the karma system at all. Sometimes I'll applaud someone if he helped me or he said something really really smart.

Just look at your post count dude and look at mine. Look at when I joined (somewhere in the begining of these new forums) and when you joined. Also my karma is now stagnant and havent changed quite a bit. So... stop whining and just ignore it or whatever...

Also my new goal now is -666 or 666 karma. Please people help! [retard] (and I mean that)

Well, I only post if I have something (to me) important to say. So, maybe I'll make that at the top of my list and spamming at the bottom of it. In either case, the list is pretty long. My posting is purely instinctual.

oh but it just seems to me that you are hanging outn here all day. Dunno why I get that feeling...
MAYBE BECAUSE EVERY TIME WHEN I OPEN THE GODDAMN FORUMS and I look at the recent topics THERE'S ALMOST ALWAYS A REPLY BY...YOU GUESSED IT blue ninja.

people like you are degrading the quality of our beloved forums. Just stop that, just stop.

And for the record I knew that you'd answer my criticism almost instantly... I think that proves me point
