1. Ugly bullets?

Take your old weapons-gfx folder and overwrite 1.4's one. Now, go into the weapons-gfx folder and delete all files with .png extensions. Voila.

2. Ugly text?

You can fully customize your own text. Go into the txt folder, and open the font.ini. You can experiment, like Zero did. His try is pretty close to that of 1.3.1.

3. Ugly glowing streams after bullets?

Turn off 'Render bullet trails' in the Soldat setup.

Yeah thats the way! You should sticky this, ya know...

Also people should try to turn of the render bullets trail option and try to play without changing the bullet gfx. It's really different then

its stupid to whine about soldat .. its everything editable .. u can make everything look as u wish .. just dont be lazy and hope other ppl will do it for u

People who don't know to look here will be turned off immediatly by the ugly stuff that was implemented, the new guys who see soldat on 1.4 and give it a shot don't know to change back to 1.3.1 bullets, nor do they know to download a font.ini, they might think to look in the options and turn off bullet trails. Other then that soldat will lose potential $$$

Hi,

I've backed up the old Weapons-gfx folder and textures and such of Soldat 1.3.1. This way you don't have to search for Soldat 1.3.1, download it and then extract the weapons-gfx folder anymore. The zip file contains the original Gostek, Weapons-gfx, textures, interfaces and custom interfaces graphics.

Download

Simply extract this zip file into your Soldat folder and replace the existing files - make backups if you want. I'm also giving the direct link, just in case you want to have it in the main post or link to it from your website:

He has a point. If the general opinion is that they are ugly, why keep with these 1.4/.1 bullets? They will only turn away people that don't know about this thread and these forums.

Just make your bullets two pixels wide instead of one. You could also overwrite the 1.4.1 weapons-gfx with one from an 1.4 install.
