Welcome again, Soldat community!
Lately I've come back to playing Soldat, and old habits remained unchanged! I felt a need to better my mod a little bit, and decided to reupload it after 3 years for You to have fun with it as well.
Changes in 2.1:
- new explosion and flames
- m79 instead of m203
- spawn sounds replaced
- changed background in the interface
- some minor muzzle-flash changes

In 2008 Original Soldier became my most popular mod after Europe in the Battle and received very good reviews, praising it's atmosphere, high-quality gfx and sfx. It's destination was to replace my default Soldat look for I wanted to create a mod that is not boring and is easy to get addicted to. Therefore I tried hard to carefully choose sounds that don't get annoying in time and draw as nice weapons as I could. I chose to redesign some of the original Soldat arsenal and replace the rest with my favourite guns seen in other shooters, like mp7 or m4a1. Sounds were taken from Warrock, True Combat Elite and some CS:Source mods.
I know that mods are not popular as they used to be, but I think Original Soldier is worth giving a try!

This is one sexy mod! I'm loving what I see! My only two complaints (criticisms mind you) are from the secondary weapons. The combat knife is sorta green-ish, tad too much for my liking but I don't really mind so much about it, and the second is the chainsaw interface-gfx from the screenie above. I can't tell when the chain-driven belt starts or stops, it sorta blends with the heart of the machine itself. All in all, I'm loving what I see. You get a download

pretty nice thar!
liking it, but not using, using my own BLUE-mod..

(mp5 looks weird btw & it's M4A1 + M203 RPK and Type 95 looks to small compared to the other guns, thyre supposed t be bigger..)

Ehmmm the knife, looks similar to... to the one from LandWarrior 2.0, maybe? I see it only changes the colour and 1 or 2 bits from the outline

The AK, the Noricco and the rpk: really really nice
The M-136 and the AWP: Can be better
The rest are good, the m-16 for me needs upgrades

That's all what I can say, no need to imitate CS in Soldat, just make entirely new mod as counterpart, OS is this for Soldat, what CS is for Half Life

I continue thinking the knife is too similar at the LandWarrior 2.0

Only change a little bit the colour and 2 pixels the form

I did not steal the knife from LW. Maybe outlines look similar to LW's knife, but everything is mine.
I also didn't take the idea of back.bmp from BF2 mod. These colours are interface's colours, now it looks more compact. And.. what's the problem? Take and paint the back in one colour and add a darker outlines to it? Cannot I do it myself? I dont need to steal anything.

-Skykanden- I don't see anything that makes Mr Killers backgroun similarly to my one. Every one can make square with outlines in other color.

About knife: It's not very similary to teh from LW. I see many diferences. They're have a bit similary handle but "cuting thing" (in polish 'głownia') is different in both. Also shading is different.

Mr Killer could you make screen of updated version a bit smaller? it's scroling.

Ehh... About trailer - it's just... s*ity

The begining is riped off from CoD4 trailer and it makes ret looks way worse than it is. Imo it's pointless to put 3D game look to 2D game mod trailer because it makes that only interesting thing is 3D moments. Also for rest - it's just some plain killin'.

Hi again, betatesters chosen, now they're testing and I'm making more guns... During it, I made a little promo video in John Rambo style (after watching newest Rambo movie

)... I tried to make a scene similar to the movie's one where John takes the .50 cal machine gun and... you know

but u could change law sound... something that fits into the other sounds

edit... and the regneration sound is annoying (when you are on a healing spot)

edit2 and the explosions are a bit small

Wow, I'm liking this mod. The sounds are very high quality, especially the Ruger and Mossberg. The only complaint I have is that the blood could be just a teeny bit lighter, otherwise it's also done well.

I've been using this mod for something like 2 years now, long enough to forget how "vanilla" soldat looks like. Quality of sound and picture is many times better than in default mod, especially on higher resolutions.
If you like high quality realistic mods then you should definitely try this one.

Also, the archive you uploaded seems broken, mind to re upload it again. I've downloaded version uploaded by Henito Kisou (4 posts above), but after trying it out I'm gonna stick to the beta version you gave me long time ago to test. It seem to have a bit better quality of sound (or at least i like it more).

I've allowed myself to upload the version I have, in case anyone would like to try it. It's basically Original Soldier v1 (or at least i think it was v1) with added rain by VTT.
