« on: September 20, 2007, 01:34:53 pm »
I was bored so I made new fire graphics using the old ones... ;D I hope you like 'em.

Any suggestions?

In game they looks a bit other than in "screen".

cause it's a grenade launcher, don't they shoot using pressure or something...

Wrong.

Grenade launchers don't literally fire grenades, and they certainly don't use a pressure system (how inefficient would that be!?) They fire using the same principal as bullets, they have a casing which houses gunpowder and primer to to propel the projectile, which is essentially a large bullet which is packed with explosives and designed to detonate on impact.

These grenades work in the same way as normal bullets (except that they have explosive bullet). They even look the same as normal bullet.

Lot more powder in the shell (heavier payload), much bigger "whoomph". And, yes, there is a muzzle flash.
To sum up my point: We had a multipage debate about toilet padding. (Putting TP in the water so you don't get splashed.)
And we still don't know if dead guys can keep a stiffy.

"Grenade Launchers" are essentially low-velocity cannons...or small caliber howitzers. It doesn't make sense to have a cannon fire via pressure...

Yep, a high explosive shell is a little heavier than a potato.  :D

Oh, and concerning the Barrett's fire; those things have a muzzle break. There should be a flash coming out of the sides of the barrel's end as well.

I like it.  I think the Spas is a little too big though.  Nice work, overall.
