why would you need a laptop that powerfull? what exactly are you going to do with it that's going to exploit it's power? browsing the internet?

let alone a laptop for 2500$ jesus christ, you can buy a motorcycle with 2500$ ..

What do you do when you have to travel? Take your entire computer with you?
do you really need a core-duo or a very powerfull laptop to travel?

Indeed. I would get some more PC games, but I really want (maybe need) to update my computer before I do that. At the moment, it has 1Gb of RAM, 70Gb memory NVIDIA 6600 GT graphics card (soon to be upgraded to a 7000-something card, scavanged from my brother's soon-to-be-old computer).

I might get some clothes and books this christmas, like Gaunt's Ghosts.

Eh, I wasn't defending overly powerful laptops, I was defending laptops in general. A $2500 laptop is ridiculous.

I'm only getting one present this year, and it probably wont exceed $40-50 if that. Meh it doesnt matter, im going to tenessee to my aunts house for the weekend and after i get back i'll most likely spend the rest of the time between christmas and new years s***faced with my friends. I'd rather do that than anything else, its cheap and a hell of a lot more entertaining.

Presents are overrated.

Sean Of The Dead
Hot Fuzz
Ah, both very funny movies. I just watched Hot Fuzz about three days ago, in fact.
All I really want is Super Mario Galaxy, cognac-style glasses and perhaps a blootooth headphones
I rented that game. It's very addictive... I thought it had strayed too far from the Mario roots, but it works well, especially if you have a second Wii remote and another person.

Look at it from MY point of view: My current computer sucks. It's 4 1/2 or something years old, getting viruses, it overheats, and it can't run any more games due to lack of HDD Space and crappy memory. I REALLY want this new comp.

For all who get more than $600 worth of stuff on Christmas... Jesus, you are lucky. For those who don't even get $100... I feel sorry for you. :P

You will be haunted by three spirits.

Expect the first tomorrow, when the bell tolls one. Expect the second on the next night at the same hour.  The third upon the next night when the last stroke of twelve has ceased to vibrate.  Look to see me no more; and look that, for your own sake, you remember what has passed between us!

I know I don't. My brother and I woke my parents up at 2 am to get our presents once.

Now we sleep in of course (6 am) But I always remember eating a nice christmas breakfast right after breaking playing with my fire truck.

Food is probably one of the top presents you could give me. Waking up to the smell of cinnamon buns is better than any graphics card.

I woke up at 2 am once to assemble my little brother's air hockey table so it would be ready for him in the morning.

I remember me and my brother did the same thing at 3 am once. Nowadays, if you wake me up before 8 when there isn't school that day, then I will be tired beyond all belief. (I might actually still be up at 3, though. >_<)
