Does anyone remember "Enjoy", the game I was making a while back? Well, at one point I completely lost the source. A week or so ago, I started again, with some new ideas and approach, and much more knowledge of the c++ programming language. This is what I've so far:

* Map engine: colliders, scenery, tile stuff, respawn points, name
* Weapons engine: primary and secondary weapons stuff done, speed, distance, damage, exposions, reload, fire interval, automatic/semi auto, adjustable stuff
* Interface stuff: well it's pretty much there, i just expand it when needed
* Misc stuff: fps limiting, map loading, font loading and drawing (not used yet), pre-made graphics for extra speed, etc, cross platform.

Stuff missing: map maker, maps, graphics (everything, from machines to the interface, to maps and scenery), menu, gamemodes, objectives, map switching, and last but the most important one, network play.

Since it uses software acc, it will not run smoothly on slow computers (both processor and graphic card). I got it to run well on a 2ghz AMD with a nvidia 5200 or something, but I think that's easily above the requirements (it certainly does not run fine on this 166mhz with sis550 card).

Here's the engine with a bit of visual stuff working:

There's a static test machine which can be killed and will spawn randomly on the various spawn points in the map.

The controls are: W & S for acc, A & D for steering, mouse wheel to adjust the vertical turret angle (controls primary weapon distance), left and right click to shoot primary and secondary weapon. You still can't pick a weapon, there's no menu + I've only hardcoded two weapons.

Btw, I stole the explosion from some mod here, and that texture + the fence are from soldat hehe.

apart from the fact that you cant aim the machine gun like you can the missle, that would be hella fun in a deathmatch online server

Pretty cool game. Needs to ability to turn while immobile, though.

hahaha that game is pretty sweet! It could turn out to be a game thats even more successful than soldat.

Heh, i played this like a week or 2 ago when you put it in sna.gather, all i could do was move around and spray something that looked like silly string, seems like you did alot within the week(s), I'm about to try it again :D

You should make the camera move as you move the mouse, like in soldat. This would be pretty funny to play on network :)

Oh, I like the concept. I always to work on a game like this, you have so much space for weapon innovations, graphics, themes and all. I sure do hope that this game will succed, and I have noticed that more and more people are getting interested in making quality 2D games once again. Great job and keep us informed of the progress.
