We should force newly registered members to read the rules.

It's seriously annoying when a newcomer decides to put some stupid ugly sig, posts that I WANT AN UNBAN FROM CS, or they just can't spell in general. 2 examples:

wow....yea lol randem kicks suck...bt wat  sucks even more is the guy that did this 2 u...bc no one would kick him no matter how much of an @$$ he was....the best thing to do is ignore them and cacht them while they r typing XD they hate that lmao

This is seriously getting annoying. What we should do, is force newly registered Soldat Forums members to read the rules, then we would have a "I agree to the terms" thing, BUT BEFORE THAT they have to pass a quiz, asking them questions on what and what not to post, how to behave on the forums, and tell them the circumstances for breaking the rules, once they answer the questions correctly, they may join the forums. The questions may be changed for every person, going in a cycle to avoid question cheat cards.

Interesting a4yo, you are always the first one to post in my threads.

Anyways, If they can't answer the quiz, there account is not activated/in use. The quiz will have questions that you would only know if you read the rules.

Interesting theory, but they could always open up a new tab and have the rules in front of them while they take the quiz... they'd only be doing it to register. They wouldn't give a shit about the rules afterwards anyway.

then they would get banned, the quiz would only make sure that they at least understand the rules so they don't ask stupid things and don't do stupid things (huge sigs, posting crap ect..)

Perhaps in the quiz they should have to use the search button, and the quiz could include a question about stickies.

...Thats the dumbest thing ive ever heard on this forum. Theres always going to be idiots out there who make themselves look nooby by typing in "leetspeak". If you dont like it, you dont have to read it.

You now if there was a quiz to register i wouldnt register anyway take to long. If they make a mistake so be it, they will learn. If not they will get warned and warned and BAN there gone. Really we should leave it as it is.

Actually, I noticed that these forums don't suffer so much from leet-talk anymore - so you can relax and wait for this kid to disappear. Because they always do... either by themselves or by banhammer.

Quizzes are unnecessary. We're just another community on the internet - our only unique rules are the sig and avatar restrictions, but our mods enforce them pretty well.

Instead of sending them an activation link on their email, send them to a webpage with an IQ test. If their results do not surpass 160 the activation link will not reveal itself for them...?

If you can pass the test, it means you are at least literate and smarter than a chimpanzee (or G.W. Bush for that matter) and then the link will send you to the "your anus has been approved and activated, welcome to the forums, read the rules..." and sends the newly registered persona to the rules page.

 hm...well sry about the spam post...guess i wasnt using the right half of my brain then...i also posted that b4 i had read the rules...(do'h!) bt the way i type isnt hurting anything..if it annoys u..then stop readin my posts. its just the way ive been typing 4 a while
 anyway this quiz would have helped me out alot..seeing as how i didnt read the rules to begin with...and if ppl do find ways around the quiz..then they will pay 4 it later. (i know i have..ive gotten like 6 pm's from ppl telln me all sorts of things )

If people who come to this forum are bad enough that we need to think about something like this, forcing them to read the rules isn't going to help, they'll just ignore them anyway.

Warnings and bans works, and if it doesn't then the problematic people disappear anyway

Just adding "No animated sigs, and no sigs over 300 x 125 in size" in red writing over the signature box would also help.

This is actually the most effective thing we could probably do.  I, for one, would love to see this added.
