I agree, it's kinda mean.. I've seen girls playing soldat, and quite a number of times. I understand that female gosteks won't really look good in the game, but they dont necessarily have to be much slimmer and have breasts. Very slight changes to the shape of head and body, standing pose and animation should do just right.. a few pixels can still make a difference

The gif feature won't be "bad" any more than scripting has been "bad"

Scripting hasn't been or has only barely been abused.  To think that a cosmetic feature like the addition of gif scenery abilities could be a blow to Soldat is.... pretty damned stupid.

there´s a thing that i really love about this, which is that you can see that people who is in charge of 1.5 visit and considered the suggestion made on the past, here in the forum. The animated gif´s being part of the scenery was an idea that was proposed  several times, even by myself. The only good idea that i´ve seen on forums that is not here is the ability to DROP (not throwing) the chainsaw and it still working and killing still that load is used completely... it could be use like a mine, or let it fall from the top of the map. =)

Waiting for open beta.

I hope that in soldat 1.5 will be added two weapon menus - mean somethin like with Gosteks, you can make two diffrent teams, so you should can make two diffrent weapon lists - one for each team.

And about that .gifs - everyone knows that gifs suck in their quality etc. so why don't add the frames the same which are using in explosion effect? You will make 10 frames of your scenery and then make a .txt with information about it.

If that were implemented, the devs may as well make all weapons hurt (but NOT kill, only the knife should do that) to have them thrown at you.  The chainsaw should appropriately be more painful to have dropped on you, being that it is sharp and heavy.  But other weapons could hurt you too--I don't think I'd like to be conked on the head with a LAW.

I opened my soldat, just a second ago, and I saw the menu, their colors, all "the look"... and I remember that we are using that same "mask" since 1.05b, or maybe before.

And damn is ugly haha , the colors are solid were it could have designs, there isnét logos like this



and it dont have textures, it does not have any pretension (i belive that should have the look and colors of this oficial forum) . Indeed i think that´s not friendly to new players.

Have you guys considered supporting APNGs? I know there really isn't much tools to make APNGs yet, but still I think it's worth to support.

I'm wondering if, when this version is ready, gonna have maps that take good advantage of the new features, especially the animated gifs. There is good maps makers on the working team? Could integrate, just for that point, people who have experience on that area, specialist ;)
