EnEsCe, is there going to be headshots in 1.5.0.

If so, will there be seperate 'headshot damage' in weapon files?
No. Only graphical, which you can see in EnEsCe's avatar.

Soldat already has headshots. Yes, they are not so powerful, but making them powerful would bring some balancing problems.

I'm sorry but this is getting ridiculously too long. Blame me, call me impolite, smite me if u can, but it's seriously taking too much time for the things that are changed.
I'd like to see you program the updates bug free in a shorter time.

These people are programming something for you out of there own spare time and of there own good will, and you don't have the decency to wait?
If you really can't wait go make your own 'Soldat' game.

Well i actually paid for my game, so i do expect some sort of updates/notices something along the lines of a release date, anything concrete.  I know games are always postponed, but unfortunately this has taken so long, a lot of the NA users have began looking the other way to different games.  As said before, you can count the amount of active NA clans on one hand, the real clans.  Maybe if they came out with that update, i would be willing to come back and give this game another shot, but at this point i have basically forgotten about it.

If you can't have fun only because new updates don't come out, then I doubt you'll have much fun after it does come out.. If new version will be released "as soon as possible", still not finished/not balanced/with bunch of bugs, would you enjoy it better?

One thing I aggree on, is that "soon" should've been said when beta would REALLY be not far from being released (several weeks). Right now, this "soon" has been lasting more than half a year, so no wonder there's more and more people complaining when it'll finally be released.
Still, releasing new version while it's not finished, won't make anyone feel better.

You're not from around here, are you? The date that patches are announced and when they actually appear are quite a distance apart, usually. :P

I agree with you that the situation in the North American community seems somewhat abysmal right now, but I hardly think that it has anything to do with the delay of 1.5. This update, as anticipated as it is, is not going to add anything groundbreaking to the game, at least judging from the change log that we've seen. If people are leaving to other games over the frustration that this pending update has caused them, I very much doubt that the ability to paste text into the chat input and exploding heads will bring them back.

Shifting through the "bye" threads on Fractured, for example, you'll notice that most have left the community because they are simply ready to move on in life. Besides yourself, I've yet to see anybody cite the lack of an update as even a minor reason for their departure. Rather, to get our community active again, I think we just need to find more fresh blood.

Hmm... when this comes out will the whole community go to 1.5 beta, for example will clan wars be done on it and stuff? Or will we still use 1.4.2 for everything but just play around with 1.5?

1.4.2 will most likely continue to be the default for most clan wars and gathers until 1.5 is officially released as a non-beta. Of course I think people should be encouraged to experiment with clan wars and the like on 1.5 in order to discover bugs, offer suggestions, et al., but official matches (such as the major leagues) will almost definitely use 1.4.2.

Whining about it on every page isn't going to hasten the process. I do this in my own spare time, not as a job, I don't get a single cent or the occasional "thanks" from all the countless hours of coding I have spent helping Soldat over the past 3 years; so in my books, none of you are in the position to be demanding any release dates or blaming me for the downfall of some isolated community. If need be, this thread can just get locked and we can all watch it plummet onto page 2. And as for the "NA Community", you're gonna have to wait alot longer as this is only a public beta that's been announced, 1.4.2 will remain as the official version even after the beta is released.

The current status of the beta is basically its all compiled and finalized, ready to rock, just waiting on MM to create an installer.

Although you say that you dont get any thanks, many of us do appreciate all the work you're doing just to make the game more fun. Some people just get too anxious and try to rush it.

Thanks for all the work you're putting into it.  :)

Lol no, I am from around here since v1.2 and I don't recall cases like that. Although I haven't been on forums at that time..
Anyway, that doesn't matter as long as in the end Soldat will be finished without a rush.

We all wish EnEsCe good luck, and thank him for all the work he's doing.
Even though we don't always say this, but we really do appreciate all your efforts.
(p.s. We - I mean real soldat fans, not some impatient whiners around here.)

Why?, I think for clans it can be very good, player can choose for example QuakeNet server and join to his clan channel and chat with his friends from the game. It`s only add one line of code. So, why not create usefull IRC client? ;)

No...
If you wanna IRC client, download it.
Also, irc clan/gather chans shouldn't be flooded with "public players".

Because it isn't intended for that; and thus isn't compatible with other networks. If player's want to chat on Quakenet, use mIRC.
