*snip*

If you claim that we are among the grammar Nazis, I belive that the word, "twatting" is spelled with three t's.

And this has turned into a generally fisting thread. Normally, I'd say toget back on topic, but it's on-topic and it's entertaining enough that I don't think I even want to say it.

OnTopic: Flannery O'Conner's book is made up of a compilation of several short stories. I sometimes lose track of the stories because the wording generally don't hold me into place, but yeah, it's pretty intense.

Mind if I quote something from King of the Hill?

Learn to spell before you join the ranks of Grammar Nazis. Wow, you know how to capitalize. Great. Now learn how to form a coherent sentence before nitpicking to make a point. (Because it's pretty obvious you wouldn't have started to point out mistakes nearly everyone on the forum makes if Slashnoob hadn't mentioned he didn't read books.)
There are "grammar natzis"? Where?!
And I think we went a little OT.
But how can you not understand a man who is annoyed with people that spells completely horrypfhel ifc inpoccibe too reed.
And please don't edit my posts. And do you even know what a "Twat" is? And don't dare look in the dictionary.

Never read Fleming's Goldfinger. I assume it's better than the movie?

IMHO it's the best Fleming book (I've read all of them) and the best of the Sean Connery bond movies, so yeah.

Yes. The two books no one has ever bothered reading because of Jurassic Park that could beat the series :).

Just for the record, since it spawned a couple replies about spelling....Yeah, I know how to spell. It was my little attempt at sarcasm (Reeding is for dumbs.).

I dunno, I seemed to like the books they made us read in school. Stuff like "tuesday's with morrie", and "to kill a mockingbird" (even though the first half of that book was boring as hell).

The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas. It's a classic, and I've read it several times. Other than that, I thought The Hobbit was pretty good too.

Currently - Kenn Follet - On wings of eagles.

Really interesting. Made me good brake after few Forsyth's and Ludlum's books.

I thought that was quite a good read. Bit confusing though, to say the least.

Once an Eagle by Anton Myrer is a fabulous military novel that spans the career of a soldier from WWI to his death in Vietnam. Also enjoyed John Ball's Miss One Thousand Spring Blossoms, a charming novel about an awkward engineer who goes over to Japan and nearly bankrupts a company when he falls in love with a geisha. Both are relatively old books, but they're excellently written.
