Nessy is not real, thy investigated it and it can not be real.
1. there arent enough fish in the lake to feed a gigantic prehistoric creature.
2. it would be seen more often and better because it needs to get air every ...hour
3. there is no way a creature could survive that long.

1. Source?
2. I've heard that there are caves under water that would have air pockets in them.  Anyway, a creature would only need to raise its nostrils two inches above the water for a short period of time to breathe.
3. Yeah, because all of the sightings have obviously been of the same creature.  Do you realize how foolish that sounds? One just appeared out of nowhere, no parents, no offspring, just a random anomaly in the fabric of space-time?

Ya see, the problem with Bigfoot is he is actually blurry in real life. There's a giant, out of focus monster running around the woods, and it freaks me out.

In seriousness, I think there has been quite a bit of "documentation" that would make me not completely rule it out, but I seriosly doubt their existance. The only reason I remotely believe them is because of natives and things showing sightings of them hundreds of years back, not just in the recent future like many of the current popular urban legends.

In my humble opinion: Nessy, Bigfoot, Ghosts, Spirits, God, Angels, Demons, Centaurs, Vampires, Chupacabras, Dragons are all as likely as each other to exist... and that is: not likely at all.

All of these supernatural beings originate in folklore dating back thousands of years (apart from The Chupacabra which is fairly recent in comparison) there is no evidence to support any of them.

The Bible is not a valid account of history. Why? Well it's quite simple really... to take the Bible as a historical account would mean you would have to be interpreting it literally... in which case all logic falls apart and it actually violates numerous aspects of History which we know to be true.... And so if you're going to interpret the Bible in a metaphorical and personal way, that completely invalidates it as a historical account because you're simply picking and choosing what is true and what is metaphor yourself - essentially extrapolating the history of the Earth out of your mind based on your religious interpretation of a religious book.

You can't possibly argue with that point... and if you do then may I remind you that real history has determined that the Bible was written 40 years after Jesus is said to have died.

Now let me stray away from religion before I have all the Jesus Club ganging up on me....

As for Nessy and Bigfoot... there's no evolutionary evidence of either such species. - And yes let me just remind people, since we're talking about history, that evolution did happen. Deal with it.

Well then, your error is assuming that all of those creatures are supernatural.  You really think that people believe the Loch Ness Monster is some sort of ghost? You really think the art from all over the world depicting dragons, created independently from each other, is just the product of peoples' imaginations? Northern native Americans had dragon art.  Southern native Americans had dragon art.  Egyptians had dragon art.  Europe had dragon art.  The Far East had dragon art.  This is all just coincidence to you? Why should they spontaneously and independently come up with depictions of dinosaurs, without having any sort of paleontology as a basis?

Wait God and Chupacabra are on the same level now?

Seriously Mangled every time you try and sound smart you look more and more like an idiot. Its like you are stuck in your teen rebel phase and are trying to justify it by finding terrible theories that only stand if you deny every other thought other than your own.

The Bible is both metaphorical and literal. You have no clue what the Bible is about to begin with in the first place so you really have no idea what you are talking about with.... anything. So unless you actually want to come at this with an open mind shut up cause I honestly don't want to hear anymore tired theories and purposely misinterpreted verses.

Evolution didn't happen. Deal with it.

Just so we're on the same page, the metaphors you're referring to are things like parables, right? Because otherwise you're just doing what Manged's said:

Chupacabra has so many images. I mean, I saw so many pictures of it and everytime its something other. On one picture it was something like an little alien with long nails and colorful (like rainbow) long hair on its back and sometime its a little mammal, like hyena, coyote or something with body like canguroo (or how that jumper spells [pigtail]). It sucks all the blood from the body just through little hole ussualy on the victims neck.

It sounds rather unreal for me but most of that are facts, mainly....or only the found bodies with no blood at all and with little wound in areas of neck.

When I fistly saw a documentary film about Chupacabra I was fecking scared, seriously. It was few years ago, I have phobia from anything unknown. And in our flat wasnt electric , I mean in power plant something went wrong so the whole house was totally dark... so me and my friend just sit in kitchen with just one little flame and was afraid.

Nessie is pretty real to me, why not ? I saw it once in Acty-X. (love that series) But in one documentary it was said that they gave into the water a sonda with sonar radar and it didn't got any signal from any bigger object.

But most pictures on the internet are fake and pretty stupid. :)

Hope you understand because my English sucks pretty much but I tryed. :)

EDIT: Honestly, I really like this discussion (topic) finally something interesting and something where I can join. :)

He might be referring to the idea of looking at an event from the bible in the sense of how it relates to today.

For example, when Saul wins a battle he is told by God to slay all the livestock. Instead he keeps some and sacrifices to God. He then loses favor with God. The moral of this particular story is obvious, it is better to do as God says than to A: think your way is better and do that, and B: repent your sins later.

Or not...

Well then, your error is assuming that all of those creatures are supernatural.  You really think that people believe the Loch Ness Monster is some sort of ghost?

No, I'm grouping all those things together as extremely unlikely, beyond natural (made  up and exaggerated) and illogical. And I'm labeling them all in some way supernatural in the sense that they aren't natural or real. It makes it easier for everyone that way.

As for the dragons... it's like I say... Folklore. Humans originated from the African continent and so it's not unreasonable to think that there was common folklore and legends of dragon like creatures and then over thousands of years as humanity spread far and wide they passed these stories down.

So unless you actually want to come at this with an open mind shut up cause I honestly don't want to hear anymore tired theories.

You mean tired theories like Evolution? Only an agnostic could be truly open minded so don't try and stipulate that religious people are open minded and atheists aren't.

The Chupacabra is simply south American folklore and a "scary" explanation for wild dogs killing goats. I've also seen a documentary about it.. and what I distinctly recall is that there were also chickens killed along with the goats. In the documentary I watched they matched bite marks to a typical set of teeth from a large dog.

All of the images and descriptions of the Chupacabra are ridiculous... ranging from a monkey with large claws and red eyes to a kangaroo with rainbow coloured mane and fangs.

Or not...

That doesn't really have anything to do with this topic... I mean... we're talking about the Bible as a historical document rather than as a religious text.

Maybe theories about religion? Maybe?

Since you know evolution didn't happen.

And just because someone labels themselves agnostic means they are open minded? Having an open mind means looking at things from other peoples point of view. Not accepting everything as fact.

Actually it isn't about the Bible at all. I just stated one reason I believe Nessy might be real. Apparently people like you rage at the letter "b."
