Lag help
« on: July 13, 2008, 01:20:48 am »
ok i keep lagging up servers in warcraft 3 and soldat. my ping in both games is now coming higher than 250. So i checked my ineternet status connection. And this is what it showed, right after i checked my dads and it was much lower. Is it bad if its high? Thats what i think. I have other people using our internet connection, but they have been using it for genral use and i never had a problem with lag until this week. So if u can help me out.

Why are people using your internet connection? And I'm not sure if high is bad, because I've got 80million recieved and 6million sent in a duration of 2 hours. Just pass your wireless connection so they wouldn't use it. Otherwise Idk  :|

What are you talking about? The number of sent and recieved packets? It doesn't matter whether or not they are high or low. A packet is a bit of information sent between your computer and another computer. Obviously, as you use the internet and send data back and forth, they increase. In other words, the packet count is completely irrelevant.

I just played a game of Soldat and my packet count is much, much higher than yours. I experienced no lag whatsoever.

How do you know they are using it for general use? They could also be trying to play games. Put a password on your wireless connection and tell them to fuck off.
