Soldat registration survey

Registering Soldat is how I generate cash and what keeps things going. This is why I'd like to know some things about it.
Thanks for cooperating!

I chose Not Enough Benefits because I believe their should be a few more benefits.

But that's just my opinion towards the topic.

There should be more benefits for registered users!
I feel there isn't enough. I know it's not registering just for the benefits. But it would be nice.

It's not that it costs too much, its that I don't like to spend money. Which is why I didn't register. I play soldat because it is the best free game in existance. (I might buy a shirt sometime but I have no money)

I've already registered but i can say that 15$ is a little high for many freebie gamers.

Stolen Regs are easy to get, and are just as effective so often times thats where they 'register'.

Benefit-Wise there is a good portion of goodies, but there really isn't much that just provides the awesome factor or what not.

Thats my comment on that.

Maybe when you are register, and you go online, it will upload your kills/deaths to some database, sort of like ranks, but would be pretty damn easy to implement.

Then you could go online, and it will have a list of all the registrations (By showing the last name they used online), and you could see stats and shizz.

Wouldn't be difficult, but could draw more attention to soldat and registrations (a few of my friends would like soldat more if it had some sort of rank system).

Hmmm, most ppl say not enough benefits. I registered my Soldat just before 1.4 came out (the day after I registered 1.4 came out)
I asked some people around and sometimes they say "I don't play Soldat that much as to register it"

I register when I used to play, around 1.1.6, the reason I registered was because I wanted to support the creator of a great game which brought me huge amounts of fun.

As for the features you get I think the star, the colored jets and especially no nag screen are great, don't know about the mini-map, seems usefull but I haven't played much since it was added.

These days most people know how to pirate a game or anything else for that matter, so I'd guess the people who do want the reg features just do what they usually do, download it off a warez site.

Furthermore AFAIK alot of players are quite young, and thus don't have much money to spare in the first place, and even if they do, most likely don't have a creditcard, meaning they'd have to ask someone else, most likely parents, to do the transfer, and alot of parents are sceptic towards using theire credit cards online, and for those who aren't clueless about the web, I'd still be a bit sceptic if my 12 year old kid wanted me to punch in the numbers cause he wants to buy some benefits for a "free game he players". Not because its free, but because there are more then enough scam sites on the web.

I registred 'cause when I started to make better mods (at least imo) I realised it's a shame to be not registred. I thing that things that you have after registration are usefull and that there are enought of 'em for now. I most like the ability to change resolution.

I would honestly but I have no methods.  No parent support, friends, anything.  I will remain unregistered until I either, have a credit card when I'm 18 or find someone reliable who is willing to pay for the key for me and I can pay him back him cash.  Also DarkNoddy's post speaks a lot of truth.

Also, I think the minimap feature being only limited to only registered players is just idiotic.  Although, it's a minimal amount, it gives players who have access to it an advantage during games.  Why can't this be changed in 1.5 like demo recording was in 1.2.1?

In my opinion, there is one BIG reason why people don't want to register.
First time, when I decided to register, there were few people who had registration, so it was something cool to be part of them. Everytime when you've joined server you were only the one who had registration of soldat and a nice star near your nick, colored flames, etc ... People remembered you just because you had registration.
But now, everyone have registration/crack and the point of this, is gone.

Maybe some drastic solution would be fine :)

ElSpec, just go to your local post-office and see if they have some of these card thingies, just ask about them.

You can get them here in NZ, it is like a disposable debit plus card (A debit card that you can use online), you just buy one and put however much money you want on them, then spend it somewhere.

I partly regret that I registered because when 1.3 was released, the lag was just too huge. and still the netcode is terrible (I registered for feedback, not really for the features).

It's usually not the fact the price, although it is a tiny bit steep for a 2d game, but more that even if it were 2$, alot of the younger still can't get the money to you.
Indeed. The price never bothered me, but I didn't have any way to pay for my registration until recently, and as soon as I did, I went straight for it. :D

Sometimes you just feel like the only teen who had a job -_-
Whats so damn hard? Get a damn job and a bank.

Sorry that is a bit harsh, ill start again..
when something comes around that gives you so much enjoyment, and you actually have a really good idea of the work involved in making it happen, you have to return the karma. One should be more than willing to brainwash their parents about options like PayPal or net- debit cards and 'work the debt off' around the house. Its not terribly much to sacrifice to have a bit of spending power.

[edit] Oh and a ranking system is a brilliant idea

no I don't want to hear people bitch about their rank all the time, especially since with teamspeak I will actually hear them.

Michal if I could pay cash you would have had my money with 1.2.1

In terms of competition this game has shitty korean games and peggle extreme. the only future competition will be link dead, so I don't think 15 is too much

bad argument, even if somebody else would have suggested it, I would have quoted it. the suggestions is not to gain reputation or fame, they are simply to make the game better.

imo i think it would be nice if you could change sound, mouse sence......and such ingame (not have to leave game for changing it) it's so anoying leaving game then getting back in, then you find out that you should changed a little more, it will be in and out all the time.

BTW one more thing, if it will be stats you almost have to have a login id and password, then it could be cool to have a friend thing, that you can add friends and if they are online you can follow them and play on the same server and such.

If you had a login, we could have stats, and other cool stuff. so it's a good idea. but I think we also need to be careful, because a really good thing about soldat is that you can enter the game real fast and just shoot the crap out of people. But I think this deffenatly think it should be discussed seriously!

imo i think it would be nice if you could change sound, mouse sence......and such ingame (not have to leave game for changing it) it's so anoying leaving game then getting back in, then you find out that you should changed a little more, it will be in and out all the time.

Yeah thats really cool it so simple, and can be played on really low computers. instead of the profile login it could be id and pw there, and you can save it so you it would be almost like it is now, just click login instead of ok. and the friend thing could be like starcraft, and friend screen when you're not on a server and if on server you can write like /f homerofgods hello.... etc.

Yeah, I think it's too expensive, and alot of people don't have Credit Cards, and there parents won't pay for it.  And Also not too many benefits, but playing the game alone is Great, and awesome, and should be a huge benefit by itself ;)

I have already registered that. Well, my brother payed for that like 2 years ago. Well, benefits are great. I think, maybe it is expensive, but MM should get some money of this perfect 2D shooter. Altho, maybe there should be another benefit, like little country flag on characters shoulders from sides or just army-style-coloured pants. But its just a suggestion. Benefits takes money, but soldat without benefits is still good enough. I am happy with it.

Where's the "$14.99 is not too much, but I don't generate any income" button? >_>

My parents already do more than enough for me, including paying my tuition, so I really can't bring myself to ask for such trivial things, even if it's just $15. However, I may spend Christmas money to register.

I'm just fine with the stolen (hacked) one.

Seriously, not too much benefits. And I guess MM can get money from his work (job). Maybe if it would be in cash I would consider to pay.

Somebody said pay for the game's perfection. In my opinion the game is far from perfection. It's still buggy so there is no way I would pay for "perfection".

If I ever would pay it would be just for support because I like Soldat and it's a really good game.

I think soldat is revolutionary. so simple and yet so good. many ways to improve it still, and it helps to get some money for further improvement. What I think it kinda sad is that Michal is working on other games, so I feel a bit abandoned, but I trust soldat will be in good hands and not die.

True. There is project Link-Dead, that maybe could be good, but I say only maybe. MM started with Soldat, so he should end with Soldat. Its my opinion. I hope, it will not die.

What? He started with soldat so he should end with it? That doesn't at all make sence to me. He obviously has some talent and a lot of great ideas, hence soldat, so wouldn't it make a lot more sence to keep enhancing that talent by making new projekts? Soldat's fine and dandy, and even though there's a lot that can still be worked on, soldat's fine the way it is. For MM to keep his focus on soldat alone would be a waste of time and skill, IMO.
I fucking miss all you cunts!

Wrongly typed ^^ Maybe he can start some new projects, but I hope he will stay at just only many projects. If he will start something big, he will leave Soldat alone.. I'm sure, he will.

i don't think there are enough benefits. Colored jets and the mini-map isn't enough. If you got access to special weapons or something, then i would get it.

As much as I love Soldat, I'm a miser by nature. I respect Michal enough to not steal registration though, as I get the feeling 80-90% of players probably have done. Soldat is indeed the best free game in existence though and it'll be on the top of my list if I ever break my "keep all money" policy. :)

I'd register it for sure, if my parents would allow me to do so... It's not the benefit i receive what'd make me register, just to have new updates and support Soldat is way enough  :D

You save it up to a point, i.e. when you are 12 there aren't many things you 'need' to buy, so you save it all up for when you leave home and need to pay for things such as a flat and university.

I have fake reg, because i wasn't really able to buy one, now that i have my own paypal account i'd like to buy the reg. My question is: do i need to get rid of stolen reg in order to install my own?

I register when I used to play, around 1.1.6, the reason I registered was because I wanted to support the creator of a great game which brought me huge amounts of fun.
Same.
