Somehow I don't trust you...

Never installed 2 codec packs at once, but I did install a lot of video/audio converters/editors/players, and eventually it borked some of the codecs, so I had to reinstall K-Lite. I think it's very possible that multiple codec packs can cause problems too.
Why do you want to install multiple packs anyway?

Whats not to like about it? It plays your movies and music.
Not really a fan of the way it has settings organized. Way too many menus and sub-menus.
Though I have to admit it's decent. I guess they've made quite a lot of changes since the last time I used VLC.

Still, other players are good too and I'm sure there are users who prefer using programs other than VLC. So for those users codec packs will still be helpful.

Actually my issue for now is that one of my HD movies (bitrate is like 11Mbps) isn't playing smoothly, i'm trying different software to get it to work but before I go ahead and install K-Lite I want to be sure it won't conflict with my current codec pack (CCCP)

Also I am using KMPlayer for now because VLC and MPC don't seem to handle HD movies quite as well, at least not H.264

Try changing the priority to high/very high, it looks like it is helping alot.

how about you create a restore point, install the two codec packs, and if it gets fucked (which I highly doubt), revert back?

I dont think so, I tested it on a 2.0GHz dual core with an 8600GT 512MB and 4GB of RAM and it still lagged, thats what lead me to assume there was something wrong with the codecs I was using. 

Compressing it from 11Mbps to 6000kbps has fixed my performance though, so I guess i'll have make do with that for now.

I loved playing saphire... until someone stole my GBA SP with the game in it. Firered and Leafgreen are just remakes of the original 3 ones but with revamped graphics and a little more.

There are, but they still don't work for most games. :/ You can still give it a try though.

There are different versions of that program. The one I linked to seems to have more settings than the one I use, but mine looks a bit different and works well with some of Blizzard's games (Starcraft and some others), so I've attached my version as well.
