You won't notice a difference between FLAC and MP3 until the mp3 gets down past V2 bitrates. For most purposes MP3 is just fine, I use V0 for much of my music and it's transparent enough for me.

Thanks a lot for the info.
But then if theres no difference between FLACs and 320kbs - why do many people keep posting FLACs? Is there some other purpose FLACs are good for?

And while we're on music theme I have another question:
Is there a program (preferably one that supports Winamp) that analyzes the currently playing song, and for next song it picks one that sounds the most similar to the current song? I have way too much music and I'm getting tired of trying to create "mixes" of similar kinds of songs, so I want to somehow automate that process.

FLAC's are 100% identical to the source whereas lossy format such as mp3/wma/ogg always remove largely inaudible sounds. People who prefer to have music identical to how it was recorded/produced(or at least ripped) usually prefer FLAC.
Careful with that axe, Eugene.

This may or may not be a simple question...

So I'm stuck on this Java program I'm working on. Basically I'm trying to animate some bars that are sorted by width using selection sort.

I can sort the bars easily, but when i try to use repaint() after each swap...it won't work :(
Is there something else I can use?

He said you won't NOTICE a difference, not that there is none.  I use FLAC for burning new CDs when the original ones get scratched up, because I know it'll be exactly the same.  Also, if you want to convert to different media formats, like ogg or mp3, FLAC is the best starting point.  Transcoding from one lossy format to another often makes it worse, since different formats compress in different ways.

Only anime shows I've felt any interest in over the years are Pokemon (original TV series) and various hentai.
so clearly jgrp is a goddamn anime connoisseur. his opinion might as well be law here.

Right click on song > Play tracks simalar to ...

Not sure how well it will work, as I just tried it but it just said playlist generator failed to initialize. Maybe you will have more luck.

It seems that this feature is really buggy in general and a lot of people are having similar issues with it.
Thanks for mentioning it though. I didn't even think of trying this out myself because I thought it was some simple user-tags-based thingy like on Last.FM. But I found a similar program called MusicIP which is supposed to do the same thing, but better. Though I still wasn't able to test it yet because it was taking too long to analyze all of my music. :S

p.s. liking the Christmasy version of your avatar. :P

Yeah, MusicIP even used to be supplied with Winamp some time ago, but right now the program is no longer being developed. But supposedly it's still good. :S
I'll search for other similar programs, just in case there's an even better one out there.

Ok I have this Razer Copperhead mouse and the Razer logo on the top where the palm sits is faded away... so I would be looking for any kind of paint to touch it up again, it would need to be high gloss and like sweat and abrasion resistant.

Oh! and I liked TBOGT better than TLAD

Is there a way to prevent the Teamviewer connected/disconnected tabs from appearing?
