Entertaining games
« on: October 08, 2008, 05:07:40 pm »
Recently i've been at a loss for things to do, so i want to find a few games that wont take long to download, and provide me with plenty of fun. I'm thinking of a sandbox sort of game, graphics simulator possibly. (Phun) Something along those lines would be great. (Free running games, like do whatever, pretty fun.)

Yea, list away!  [pigtail]

Soldat Sounds like a good game :)

Ah, games.. Mhm..Wolfenstein Enemy Territory?  Cabal Online I hear is good.  Runescape you can do what you want, WoW, Minesweeper..Etc.

Do you want more of  shooting kind of game? Or Strategy?

Not exactly free running but hey. Gets past my school blockers, so it's a nice timewaster.

Also, play Within A Deep Forest if you haven't already. Short download, simple concept, decent playtime, and fair (if brutal) difficulty curve.

And check out FLaiL. Another small but hard game, good for a couple hours if you don't get frustrated.
I attend grammar school, last grade, and ignorance is all around me. Well, good for them. Ignorance is bliss.

If you want to dump hours upon frustating hours into nothing, you Wanna be the guy
It's not very sandbox, but is small and takes a lot of time. Please note: Very frustrating.
Also, ignore his "my new game" thing lower in the page, download and play away.

Cortex command build 18 for the win. Build 18 because of the stupid AI's hilarity and the high chance of random stuff happening.

Hundreds of mods, you can do almost anything, as long as it's 2d.

This makes me miss Vij's indie game review thread.  Oh the good times.

...I think it's time I send him a pm...

Dwarf Fortress

It doesn't get more sandboxy than this. You'll need a monster of a computer to keep it going if you get more than 100 dwarves, though.

Trackmania Nations.

Play alone is really funny, but better online

This is really nice turn-based tactic RPG game.

You can try many official games which became free - like Far Cry, Command&Conquer Red Alert and many others.

You've got to be kidding STM, that game? That's a whole ripoff of other shooting games, except you can modify muzzles and scopes.

I definitely recommend The Last Stand 1&2 :D

Free online game is probably...... Soldat? XD

Do. Not. Want. Does not get my suggestion. (My friend was way better than me at that and kept making me play it, I don't like it.)

Combat Arms.

I played the Closed Beta, Open Beta, and the actual game. It's terrible. Unless you are godly and play every day (that means no long breaks from the game like weeks or such), you will have no guns left when you return save for the default m16 pile of shit which has horrendous recoil and very minimal damage. If you can wander around any map for more than 10 seconds without getting sniped, you'll stand no chance versus any other auto.

Did I mention Nexon doesn't do shit about hackers?

tl;dr - play CS:S

Actually, they will eventually ban them, I heard from my friend that some hackers from maple got banned long time ago.
