Soldat Campaign Mode

A Campaign mode would be awesome for soldat, like a story mode that will bring upon a sequel to the game. Just like how Halo and other various games have a campaign why shouldn't soldat? This would bring more excitement into single player mode and help people get more skills.

Afraid it''s not gonna happen, blokes. It's been suggested before, but it's just not worth the effort. For now, you'll have to settle with what we've got :)

Mission Mod has a pretty good go at this, except you need to play with others to get through half of the missions. (otherwise it's just suicide!)

INF is quite similar to campaign when playing alpha....

I dont think just the mission mode will be much fun with what soldat is now (unless you'll be happy with missions like "get from here to there and kill everyone"). Before soldat can have single player missions, it has to have more complex scripts that support map triggers, interactive objects (like switches that open doors, moving platforms), more advanced bot scripts (also to make cutscenes), lots of stuff which soldat will probably never have.

2Ziem: I think what's being mentioned here is not something scripts can handle. You can script something that's better-than-nothing, but it wont be a fully-featured single player campaign.

Of course it would be nice to have single player campaigns in soldat (with escort, stealth, many other kinds of missions), but I think first work has to be done on multiplayer and bugfixing.

If it's scripted, it would actually be nice. But it would be quite a hassle to have that in the main game.

I think I actually did play in one of those mod. I think it was KNS Boss server or something, it was pretty neat.

A soldat campaign would be rather weird and cheesy. Imagine a CS campaign? It just wouldn't feel right at all. Soldat is a multiplayer game, and no more.

Campaign mission #1: Tutorial.

Server : Meet Dummy.
Server : Say hi to our new soldat player
Dummy : Hello.
Server : Ok, first off, select a weapon.
Server : Once when you have selected a weapon, make sure it's loaded, and press the fire button.
Server : If all goes well, aim the cursor at the bot. And...fire.
Dummy : You killed me. -.-
Server : Excellent! Moving on to the next step in the tutorial...JETTING!.....

No I was thinking more like maybe Objectives, Challenges etc.. Things like: Kill 10 Zombies in 30 seconds or Kill 7 Enemies with Spas etc..

I wanted to do something like this a long time ago, but apperently it is impossible. I was suggesting triggers (if you step on a certain area, you could make various things happen like spawn bullets at you or you win or something) but apperently the whole of soldat would have to be rewrote, or close. Which is too bad.

Well if you look at TTW and the bunker capturing, that is basically what you are looking for. As for missions, the bots would need to be improved before that and for achievements, that could be scripted but would only work for one server probably.
