Opera VS Firefox.
« on: January 28, 2009, 06:47:36 pm »
Seriously. Screw IE Vs. Firefox, it's obvious firefox is superior. But what about Opera? Also try it atleast once before you vote. IMO, Opera is alot faster and superior to firefox.

I use IE because FF kept crashing. Never tried opera; IE works and I don't care.

FINE. I will do a side by side test of Opera and Firefox, and use my internet page timer to see how long each loads a page.
Await my results.

Opera because it's a better, faster and safer version of IE

...That has to be the worst reasoning imaginable.

FireFox because you don't get popups ever and the predictive url bar is the best.

Chrome sucks until it gets an ad blocker.

Okay here are some websites that I loaded with both.
forums.soldat.pl
Firefox - .16 seconds
Opera - .12 seconds

Google.com
Firefox - .11 seconds
Opera - .13 seconds

theslackerz.com
Firefox .19 seconds
Opera .19 seconds

Yahoo
Firefox .12 seconds
Opera - .13 seconds

I stand by my opinion that Firefox is the best, EVER.
Oh, Firefox had an application that makes it a little faster, so I have no idea what would happen without the app.

probably not any different because fasterfox doesn't really do anything to make a single page load quicker.

Chrome sucks until it gets an ad blocker.
well, it blocks the popups, and the ads on the site arent that horrible (you can always find something funny)
the worst part is that i cant find any addons for chrome at all :(

yep, the time is just awesome long, i cant even scratch my back in that time :|
if i can do it, than its slow, otherwise, idc
(and you should f5 an 4chan thread with lots of pics, an great test)

I've been using Firefox for a long time and I loved the panel with bookmarks. Or how it's called. Pretty awesome.

Now I'm using Opera coz one friend of mine told me it's better. But I hate when I want to fast scroll a page with "SPACE" on the end it "jumps" on another topic - I mean it on Soldat forums now. Which is tricky.

I think Firefox is more user-friendly.

I won't vote because I've never used Opera, but I can't imagine getting along without the customizability of Firefox.

If FireFox runs slow for you then you don't have enough RAM, these days everybody should at least have 1 gig of the stuff.

I thinks crome should be added to the list. Once it comes out of beta, it is going to be one of the top dogs.

I prefer Opera when I need just a plane old browser, FF for when I am working.
