quit bitching about there already boing a GOW mod.
i remember a time when the suddenly were 5halo mods, 4cs mods and whatnot and people didn't give a damn, now it's BUT HE ALREADY MADE THAT AND THIS, who cares.

Boltok is such an awesome name for a pistol.

If you can make you're own animations and gosteks, then I'll get this mod.

But the weapons look good, nice job.

I cant decide from what im seeing now which GoW2 weapons are better :\ This one seems a bit better the weapons

Actually, they're all PNGs. I just haven't taken any advantage of the format. (MS Paint isn't the greatest tool for transparency)

He resizes but also modificates, it's not bad excepting if you don't recognize it

At least he got very nice style. Maybe the resizin' is the one thing I fucking hate but still. It got some attitude with the modifin' it so It doesn't looks like shrunk job.

What Lord picture shows is that thats how modding is done or is there another way to create mods?? and wats a PNGs??

PNG is a file type. It doesn't take up as much space as a bitmap, and it supports transparency.

What most people do is just draw the guns freehand and shade them pixel by pixel. I just skip the first step.

Also, my internet's working again. This mod will probably be comatose for a week or two.

I love how most (ahem, most) of the comments being made in this thread mainly consist of "Rawrawrawr!?!?" and "rawrpng's1resizelolno!1." A very effective way to use a thread, especially when the person who made the thread is designing weapons for a mod. You know.. I think - just maybe.. Lord Frunkamunch was hoping for something a little more constructive..eh? (lmao)

I've gotta say, I hate the Gears of War weapons when they're transferred over to Soldat. The guns are just too diverse and too shoved together to be comprehensible. For the Snub pistol, it's looks like there's cancerous growth protruding from the front of it. Certain things about most of the weapons need to be more defined, or else everything kind of flows into itself (referring mainly to the scope on the Longshot and pre-mention Snub pistol).

Looking at the Boltok pistol makes my eyes hurt. There's too much definition in the colors imo, thus making it look hectic.

The one gun that really stands out though is the boomshot. It's got definition, but from what I can tell, the bottom of the barrel (?) is kinda meh. Like it just kind of turns into one shade of color with some dark lines intervening horizontally. Otherwise, very nice work on that.

Maybe the guns in GoW2 look just as hectic. I think the problem with the GoW series is that, from what I've seen, (unless you have a real nice TV) everything had just too much contrast and was too 'overdone.' Like the HDR was just a little too extreme. So maybe that aspect all-too-helplessly transfers to the GoW Soldat mods... It's been a while since I've played

I didn't notice what you said about the bottom of the boomshot when I was making it (I was zoomed in the whole time and it looked okay there) but looking at it now, you're completely right about the single color thing.

First try at the scorcher done. I hate it, but it's been holding me up for so long I don't really care anymore.

Also changed the boomshot slightly.
