Zombies - Your ideas about them
« on: February 21, 2009, 11:41:33 pm »
Whenever you play games with undead elements or of horror genre, you'd almost always come across the fictional creature so popular which we have called "Zombie".

There are many definitions of a zombie. Some would say that a zombie is a corpse raised from the dead, probably by voodoo, therefore the more deaths, the more zombies. More commonly heard is that a zombie is basically the result of a parasitic organism or virus binded to a host - therefore it spreads by infections, ranging from simple bites to even a simple touch. These infections however, only work if the host is still alive, reasons such as the idea that the virus can only spread to the brain by travelling in the blood of its host. Generally, zombies are unintelligent and slow, but there are other depictions in which they show a certain level of intelligence or move very fast.

My view is this:
Zombies are a new aggressive species/civilization. Zombies start from a parasitic organism, which firsts infects a host, and from that one host it spreads itself around via infectious bites. Overtime, the parasitic organisms will mutate and grow stronger and become more infectious. From there, instead of having just simple, mindless and zombies, we get more complicated ones like tanks via mutations. They'd also grow a bit smarter, learning how to plan simple strategies such as having the tanks charge in whilst ranged zombies shoot from behind, though they would never grow to be as intelligent as humans (even so, the humans will always advance as well). Eventually, they'd be able to connect to a dark power, and therefore learn dark magic for their purposes. With these dark powers and more knowledge about biology, the zombies would be able to create zombies of their own with just biological resources. They infest buildings and turn them into their spawning grounds, then later they'd be able to build their own organic spawning grounds. Nights will last longer than usual and days would seem shorter. The zombies are weaker in the day, but they thrive in the night.

In terms of infection, all complex living things (humans, animals) would be infected easily (this includes mosquitoes, tough luck, though fortunately mosquitoes would avoid zombies). Plants and fungi are the only exceptions. Zombies can try to replicate plants/fungi as zombies, though they'd behave largely like animals.

What is your idea about these fictional creatures called zombies if you were to ever imagine them to exist?

dun exist
Do you want to see me crawl across the floor to you?
Do you want to hear me beg you to take me back?
I'd gladly do it because
I don't want to fade away.

They are the simple byproduct of a viral infection that takes over the brain and makes it oxygen-independent. They have no special powers.

dun exist
*Erherm*

We all know they're fictional (therefore, they do not exist, just as is magic), just wondering for your ideas if you were to imagine them to exist.

Modified the question a little bit to avoid confusion.

Not true. Zombies are based on actual events. Back when science was still young, they did not know about people's vital signs. Some people got barred while they where still alive. And thus people would dig them selfs out of their grave.

You know so little. Try reading some Max Brooks, he's a real eye-opener.

^ (all posts after my previous post) Well that's interesting.

Ya, I'm actually searching for a couple of Max Brook's zombie books too in the library. Just don't know if I have the time to read it.

thy will probebly never exist, unless the militairy starts doing tests about humans turning into brainless animals looking for warm blood and create a virus that breaks out or something.
and why would the militairy ever do that? no reason, it's just fiction,imagination..

They're a fucked up necrophiliac creatures who crave humans' intestine. And they're better than any Olympic Runners.

I have to agree. It's kind of funny to see a one month old rotten human "being" running after a living one, hunt him down and rape...

...God I wanna zombies. It just poped in my mind. One blonde sexy in our neighbourhood would be a good target. Oh, wait. Zobmies don't think ? ...crap.
