EnEsCe told me that it's too late to add fixes so you may realize that it shouldn't take too long now.
If someone knows when it comes out then EnEsCe and/or MM.
And both seem to be busy last days.

So stop asking and do something useful.

No! Soldat is an Infantry-Based game, and adding vehicles would pretty much ruin the game.

No wey man. *Sarcastic voice* -,-
I was saying two game types that would benefit from it.
Putting vehicles into almost any other game type would ruin it.
Plus I'm not "whining" to get vehicles added. I just randomly found that game, and instantly thought of Soldat.

Let's drop it. I may start "trolling" again.

You have to admit. This update is taking a hell of a long time.
I've seen post from like a year ago saying it's going to be released soon!

Welcome to Soldat.
Yeah, Soldat is like Debian Linux. There's a new release every 2-3 years or so, if that.

Yes, but why lie about release time.
They're not lying, they're just completely unable to set accurate or specific release dates as they have a bunch of other stuff going on in their lives. Be grateful they haven't abandoned the project altogether due to their insane time constraints.

A release date has never been set for 1.5 that I know of, so who lied?

Whether EnEsCe did a good job or not, MM should stop being so self-ish, and EnEsCe should stop being so confident and the next release should involve more then one person. After all this obviously isn't a one man job.

I'd prefer an update every month or two. It's not like you'll run out of ideas in six months time. That's the best part about Soldat. It's simple, and the possibilities are endless.

Just to make things clear, [I'm not trolling]. Just saying it how I see it.

(BTW, I love how Soldat is underlined as a spelling error, in a Soldat forum. XD)

MM isn't selfish at all he just has a new project and it's not like there isn't any person who want's to help them developing Soldat.
It's clear that when 2 people work at one project one person can see bugs in the other ones code which is really good.
However afaik MM rarely works on Soldat, nearly all work is done by EnEsCe. However I think he's not the person who would share anything with anyone (e.g. he never would make his own projects open source) that's why I don't think it would be easy to get anyone but MM to help him with Soldat which is really bad for the community.

Too frequent updates can be annoying but I guess one update every 3 months would be nice.
Adding new features can be bad and Soldat isn't that easy to code (Chirsgbk told me once how much pain it can be ;D).
About the possibilities: Of course you could add Vehicles and Planes (oh no please don't ;D) but then it wouldn't be Soldat anymore ;) I think it's better to focus on bugs and only add features when they are really necessary and improve fun.

The bad thing about features is that they are fun to code so everyone would tends to add new stuff and everyone prefers them over fixing bugs for hours :).

And yes that is just my view of the stuff ;).

(Yeah the underlining thing is funny :D)

Seriously man, nobody ask for your opinion.

I have to say MM is kind of "secret" person but that's the essence of his fucking work.

Now after a fuckload of time people realise that if every shitty suggestion would be added Soldat wouldn't be Soldat.

It would become just another free crap game which people would leave after few hours of play.

Got it ? Not.... leave.

Well, according to Enesce, everything's done, he's just waiting for MM to do the installer stuff which, apparently, is taking him quite a while. Why? I don't know. If we're lucky we might get some philosophical rant on MM's blog about why putting an installer together takes so long. ;)
