Middle junk was just me analyzing how a star would appear to obliquely rotating planets.

I suggest to start writing a storyline for a comicbook playing in the future with your artwork, Espadon. I fucking love your damn style and the figures you create. Very promising.

I get lag with some custom brushes at around 16000px but I've gone up to 24000px and no lag with the default brushes.

Of course that size is kinda overkill.

lol yeah, a tutorial would be good.

That last picture is pretty much a tutorial. I can add some descriptions to it:
1.Sketch
2.Color/Define
3.Detail
4.Finishing touches.

The main thing is that you find the patience to go through each stage which I'm unable to do.
When I draw, I want it all and I want it now. Not mention fast. : P

And to draw something specific, study it first and observe/inspect it until you know how it works so you can actually imagine it in your mind which, in turn, allows you to draw it. Drawing lines is also another skill you need to learn in order to make stuff like Esp. Practice and experiment is what any skilled artist would say to you.

And yeah, beatiful art work, love the level of detail and realism in your paintings.

Yeah, patience is a big issue; lately I've been trying to become more patient with my execution. However execution isn't always the most important, a lot of planning needs to go in if you want to make execution go smoothly. I mean improvisation works, but planning never hurts.

A lot of my paintings are improvised but I try to plan out the subjects ahead of time. The original design for the pod mech was done over a year ago. I had recently decided to pick it back up as you can see in the pic above . It's a lot easier to go through with the painting when you thoroughly understand the desigin. I'm pretty bad at composition so I played around with a few candidates; I had wanted a kind of head-on view since I do a ton of quarter shots , so I puttered around with a few other angles . In the end though I felt the elements in   were better, so I transplanted the more head-on angle into that scene .

Thanks eps for the advice.

Ive been experimenting with the smudge tool, and holy crap, im surprised to say ive finally found the solution to making your pics look life-like and 3d. Took me awhile to actually figure out that smudging is used for blending :X

Don't mind the horrid lineart- im still trying to get used to inking my works XD

-Mainly focused on the facial features and tones here

Before-flat skin colour
[

After- smudged with 3 additional tones, working on the ear detail, and cheeks

A victory for me! still have more to learn though.
And yeah, ive found this technique from Ionen's colour tutorial-

If you're saving as JPEG slide the quality to at least 10 to avoid all that lossiness.

Oh nuts. yeah problem, i cropped the entire pic on paint- could be the reason why it screwed the pic up.

lol I bet he actually would, if that cannon would have fired a second before with that dude's head blown to pieces. Love your art and style, shame its just "not suitable" to some like WL. (I suppose he does it for the kids of the forum, so its resonable I guess.)
