Remove 2 shot limit behind cover

When you are behind cover and you lift your gun, you can only fire 2 shot bursts and the you have to wait half a second or something to shoot again.

Why is there a limit on this? Without this maybe people have a chance to take airborne enemies down from the ground.

There is no real limit, you are just so close, that the bink makes the gun "hit" the cover. So yeah, back up a bit.

That's not the problem. Did you notice that when you crouch near a box, your Soldat would go through this animation (as Thinkto described) whereby he would pull his gun over the box?

The problem with this animation is, after you've fired (if you use an auto, you can fire twice), your Soldat would somehow move the gun back to original position (the same way when you are not near the box), then put the gun back over the box, but in the meantime during this animation, you cannot shoot, and this is a big waste of time, as what the epic guy is talking about.



I would F12 this, and I see it more as a bug. Though this feature is not exactly used in Soldat in most cases because chances are you are always moving about in mid-air, I think it would be nice to see some improvement to it and to give it more of a use. This feature is meant to allow users to shoot even when hiding near a box, giving increased defensive capability, but at the cost of being an easier target to explosives and arrows, as well as a smaller aiming radius (you can't aim down or the box would block your shots). I don't see why any offensive capability should be diluted (other than smaller aiming radius) as a result of this animation problem, especially for autos.

Maybe not remove it as much as make the burst higher, as in 5-10 shots higher, because in real life to have to pull back into cover again after firing a couple of bursts don't you? Unless you want an arm ripped off.
However this isn't real life, and as long as it doesn't affect the game balance in anyway, which i doubt it can, i say remove it.

I say let it stay, because the player behind the collider has an advantage and the player coming there NOT, I dont think that would be good :(

I agree with demoniac.  If the opposition has run out of nades, it's heck hard to shoot you.  Maybe make it 5 bullets or something.

I say let it stay, because the player behind the collider has an advantage and the player coming there NOT, I dont think that would be good :(
When you get shot by an explosive or a grenade, you're as good as dead, because the damage is somehow multiplied when an explosive hits a collider.

I don't get it how people hidden in box can throw nades...is should have blown them up.
You have to throw either at full strength or at a slightly upward angle (or both), otherwise your own grenade will indeed impact the collider you are hiding in.

F12. If you're behind cover, you deserve an advantage. Otherwise it just makes pretty scenery. It adds that extra bit of tactics to soldat, besides, no-one uses cover online anyway.

I would say that it would be best to make it without burst (no limit) but to make bink and recoil higher in this situation.

And that's the bit that pissed me off about cover, nades do at least twice their damage their. Which i think makes nades the perfect cover destroyers.

Never thought of this as an animation bug.. but it does seem like it. The feature itself, i think, is a bit useless, especially with a bug. The area that activates this "cover mode" is very small, and usually it's a bad idea to camp so close to a collider - you're a very easy target for grenades. Not to mention that you only fire 2 bullets, which makes autos useless in this case.

What would be more useful is an increase in accuracy when you're this close to a collider. Realistically, you could use a crate/barrel/whatever to aim more steady, so this would be a more reasonable bonus instead of bugged over-cover shooting. This, however, will make it a lot easier for blue team in INF. :/

I'm in love with TEG's original idea here, and I agree to it's full extend. No burst, no extra recoil no bink addition.. If you add any of those, this idea will fall apart.
