Cold War Mod (sounds needed).
« on: April 22, 2009, 09:20:48 pm »
Okay I'm working on a cold war mod (as the title says) and as of yet do not have the skills needed to make sounds for soldat so I was hoping that some one would be kind enough to help me (I wont be to picky just so long as the they don't sound like they came out of a tin can) ;D.

Sounds Needed:
m1911 soc.
and dual m1911 soc
spetsnaz ak-47
ak-47
m16
remington shotgun
M14
RGS_50M
bolt action sniper
S.A.W.
minigun
AT-4 rocket launcher

Also for some reason imageshack isn't working for me right now so I cant post pics of the game play but trust me this is my best work yet (and i will post pics as soon as I can get imageshack working).

Looks awesome but maybe AK spetsnaz could be replaced by Ak47u ?

rename the Sniper to the M21, as far as know, the M21 was the main sniper rifle of the US Forces during the cold war

I wouldn't choose saw as minimi. Better choice would be M240 or M60. M249 weren't in usage yet, same with M136. For law better choice would be M3 or M72.

M1911 - yes, MEU SOC .45 - no, not yet used. M9 or M1911.

It would be good to name shotgun (looks like M870 in tactical wersion that wasn't avaiable in those times), M870 with fixed stock would be good.

Sniper has a little bit strange stock. I'd say that it's M24 or M40A1 both used in thise times.

And as -Sky- said. Not spetznaz but Ak74u (also it has frame stock, not full one like in full-size version).

On your place i'd also change chainsaw into something more 'climatic'.

Rather don't like your shading but gotta say that interface is really interesting.

Imo they're already too light ;D. It'd be bad chioce to enlight 'em even more 'cause they'd loose wisibility (too much contrast between lights and darker places).

Okay a lot to cover here.....

With the Weapon names I just put them there so you could get what the mod will look like when its finished.

I dont like the AK47u....it might work but im basing this mod on the rts game "World in Conflict" and there are Spetsnaz troops in the game so the gun stays sorry :P

@ PaFel: thanks for the sniper names when I made the sniper I wasint looking at a pic and didn't have any one gun in mind and as for some of the guns being in the wrong time in history I must say I just saw that a little while ago and I agree it needs to be fixed (bummer for me  :().

Oh yes and Espadon if you read this.....THIS BELONGS IN MODDING HELP!!!!!! ;D im asking for some one to help me by making sounds for the mod.

And one last thing to set right....The Chainsaw is NOT going to be in this mod
mainly because it was from my other mod Black Death's arsenal.

P.S. The M249 was first used in 1984 so it works and the AT-4 was first used in 1960 so it also fits in the time line of a cold war game.

I don't mean that you should change it for other weapon. It's just named in real AK74u not spetznaz ak-47. AK74u is used mainly by spec forces (like spetznaz) and pilots and it looks like this.

Btw: I guess you wanted to make cobra red-dot sight on 74u. It looks a bit different. Here you have pics:

They look so nice. I'm in awe. Really, those guns look so good.

I might be able to get some realistic sounds. I'll post them ASAP.

I need help with my sounds, I'm trying to get my hands on some 2142 sounds so I can edit them.

I've got an M249 sound (SAW). Looking into getting some AK variants.

Um....Croat.....you cant try it yet I haven't posted a link to DL it yet.... :P

and calm down with the deagles  ::)  if you want me to fix that give me the name of a Russian cold war hand gun and I'll make it to replace the socom.

P.S. PaFel: Im looking at the M202 and its kind of dull....is there anything else I can use for a flame thrower that looks a bit more like..well...a flame thrower  ;)
