Okay This is an Idea that I had.

I was thinking that all of the good soldat mod makers should come together and form a kind of mod makers "guild" the point of the guild being that we could all work on a single mod and each modder could work on the parts that he/she (if any girls really play/mod soldat  ;D) is best at and together we could make the best mods possible by exploiting the best talents and styles in each person....

Benefits Of being in the guild:
1) I'll make a really cool guild logo that you can add to you tag

2)Each modder that works on the mod has the rights to use any part of the mod in there own personal mod

3)Hell the mods we could make would be awesome  ;D


P.S. This idea is still a rough draft

Good idea but a modding team shouldn't be so big, not more than 4 because that would become a chaos

and as for you comment I was thinking that we can split it up into groups

1) Interface weapons

2) Interface gfx

3) Weapons Gfx

4) sparks Gfx

5) Mapping (what do you think of this?)

6) Sound fx

Etc.....

If you have it in your mind don't count with me, I was thinking about 4 people making a modding group JUST 4 even 2 are better, and you should try to join someone who has your style or something similar so you can make the weapons together

We've tried this two times before and each time it ended up the same. The graphical style of each modder differed too much and made the entire mod look bad. Though the entire thing was fun to do.

as far as the differing styles go I think I have that worked out...
You get one modder that can polish things up and blend the styles.

Well, each can specialize in just one part. like guy 1 makes the weapon interfaces, guy 2 makes weapon gfx-es, guy 3 can make sfx-es, guy 4 makes the gosteks, and guy 5 makes the animations (i am offering myself for this position).

Use your free time more wisely next time, projects like this are fail. This is a tip not flamin'.

You just don't know what to do or what kind of mod to make. Take your time and think about it.

Collabs in Soldat mods ain't good idea because people here can barely cooperate and makin' one mod isn't such a big deal for one person.

Its simple as I said before the idea is still a rough draft and nothings final
although I DON'T appreciate you saying "End of discussion" like you have
authority over this thread (honestly it sounds really snotty ::)).

But I do understand were you're coming from because you are right
these ideas dont work most of the time(but just because something
doesn't always work does that mean we never try?).

P.S. Do you ever say anything positive on my topics?

Man, I'm givin' you critism. No offence.

It's not flamin' but I'm tryin' to write the truth. I joined once or maybe more few collabs with many modders. It came out as a bad idea because the style was really too differend among weapons and other stuff. Total chaos.

The thing I want to say is that you can manage things easier as a one person who will choose everything freely. Weapon types, sounds and ...well everything.

More people - more opinions - more struggle

But if you proove me wrong I will shut up.

As I said before this might not work (I know I know most likely wont work)
But I still think in the end it will be worth it....Then again I might be wrong
the way I'm planning it I will be the head "orchestrator" and keep things
in check (as well as blend the styles) and we will have other people working
on the other random parts that there good at.

Over all this is still in a blue print stage and in all reality we may never even
try to get this idea off the ground...

Well, a collab might even succeed when you get a few ppl to work on some stuff that isnt too much connected to each other, and them to place it more like an compilation of some stuff that is together making a proper mod.

Like, one makes gosteks, second makes weapons (interface, gfx and sfx) and third might make a map.

For an example: your cod4 mod, you are making the weapon interface, gfx and sfx, scout could make hi quality gosteks, and vtt could make a few maps for cod4.
And i could also make a slash animation for the knife, not the default stab.

I'm thinking (mainly because of my other thread "what mod do you want")
that we should try a World War I mod....Just a thought its not written in
stone.

It's easy to say "let's approach this with a have-fun" attitude, but in the end there are always going to be the people who will challenge the mod, pointing out this and that isn't good enough etc. And then you play the blame game. "Oh so and so just did a bad job on that weapon."

Group modding requires a high degree of cooperation. If you see each other in RL, group modding can work. Otherwise, it's not likely to surpass mods done by one single, skilled individual. And if that's not going to happen, is it really worth grouping up for? As I see it, the group-up motion is just another one of those 'pride' things that are really meaningless. You can give yourselves all sorts of elite modder tags and stuff but when you're the only one that recognizes yourselves as such, then it's rather inane, don't you think?

I take it that you mean I shouldn't try this,but as I have said before this is still just an Idea and that's all .....Now I understand that this has been tryed two times before the best things to tell me is what went wrong with them that way I can try to make rules to avoid those problems.

@ Espadon: Thanks for taking the time to explain those points( I understand your points very well) The main reason that I see making this guild is the principal of the production line in that it saves a LOT of time if you can get it to work...
