Changing the default gravity...
« on: June 17, 2009, 02:41:56 pm »
Dont kill me if this has already been suggested, but im just throwing it up :

Changing the default gravity...meaning that default gravity for soldeir is that it pulls him to the ground at all times, vertically down. Now idea is that, there'd be a button to change gravity to left, right & up... so lets say, u press G&up, and it 'd swap to upper gravity, making ur soldier walk on roof and jet to the prev ground. Something like that.

Changing the angle of gravity would be sweet (and useless). I guess it won't happen though.

With enough imagination map makers could make really interesting maps and mods, so I wouldnt call this feature completely useless.
This, however, might not only make it hard to add, but will also overcomplicate map editing (not to mention format change) and create more bugs. I dont think soldat is ready for something like this.

It's unlikely to be added, since it'll screw things around I reckon. We only have the ability to make gravity towards the ground or away from it, since gravity is hardcoded into the game, and you just have to change the gravity constant (make it negative to go upwards, for e.g.).

dodging what things?

Making this would only make people go out the server. Nobody likes to lose the control over their soldatens.

How are you gonna manage to keep shooting and aiming or whatever when you're already holding down G and 2\3 other keys?!

Err what about a script that set a random gravity function, say like every couple of minutes. Anyway negative gravity to walk on ceilings doesn't work. You would need to flip the gosteks.

Of course it doesn't. The gosteks just end up sticking their heads into the roof.

Well I meant they float up and get stuck sorry for not sayin that, so youwould need to have to flip them say a script like when grav=(number) gostek= flip verticle (I cant do pascal)

This is a useless suggestion. It would have no use, no-one would use it even if it has no use and it's a waste of time coding it.

Use the script for such actions.
