Action snap and lobby chat.
I've always doubted the usefulness of those features and still do.
But that is just my opinion. That's why I'd like to hear what you think.

Do you use any of those features? Which ones? Why?
If no - do you not use them at all? Or do you use something else instead?
Like autodemo instead of action snap, and MSN/IRC/XFire instead of lobby chat?

Lobby chat is useless compared to an actual IRC client.

Too lazy to enable actionsnap and use it regularly.

Lobby chat is a failure and I plan on removing it if things don't pick up. I use ActionSnap regularly in pubs when I get blown to pieces by M79 >_>

Lobby chat is useless, because can not be connected to other IRC networks. (Quakenet)

We were so enthusiastic about a lobby chat, but turns out no one would use it. Even so, it was neither successful nor useful. I say we should just remove the lobby chat once and for all.

As for ActionSnap, I personally do not use it, because I don't like to take screenshots. However, I'm pretty sure there are many other players who would use the ActionSnap feature along with ordinary screenshots. So let the ActionSnap stay.

I found exploding heads to be the most useful addition in 1.5. Both chat and the action snap are crap.

Actually, if you make it able to use it to connect to other channels and use querrys it would be great, as it would make gathers easier for a few clicks.

It's a LOBBY CHAT, not an IRC client. Look at what Lobby Chats are in other games..... One channel where people are just meant to talk. Not an IRC client for you to run around willynilly.

Or, running external client on background would be even nicer. If one is too lazy to do so, it is his/her problem and devs shouldn't be bugged about it.

I'm using IRC client instead of lobby chat. Thinking of action snap...it actually doesn't show me the action itself, all the time upper left corner...Lobby chat is useful when you want to play with your friends on the same server, just tell them to right-click on your nick in chat and choose join game, very neat feature, but I don't use it cause lobby in general is nearly empty.

With IRC it isn't any harder to join to the same server; just give your friends the IP address and the port.

You could use the Soldat Clicked made by ramirez, with it you can just doubleclick on server detail which are in form soldat://ip:port/password. OR, you could press alt+r which should open up the scripts with remote tab active, switch over to Aliases tab and write:

Code: [Select]

/soldatjoin run C:\Path\to\Soldat\Soldat.exe -join $1-

With this it would be possible to join servers by writing /soldatjoin ip port password, for example /soldatjoin outcry.u13.net 23000 fish

Call me old-fashioned but... I prefer irssi and always hated slow-mo/actionsnap stuff in other games.
