On another note. How do you like the concept art so far?

It's pretty good.

Ah well, since everyone's posting something, id might as well update you guys on my progess

Images attached show the Holy knights wearing the Winged/Spartan/King's Crown respectively.

Ill attach the other headgears when im done with them.

namely- the Warrior's Hood and the 'Eternal Helm of Destruction' rambo headband replacement :)

PS- The winged helm was'nt so successful, as making the wing ornament of the helmet stand out is quite difficult. Thus, what you see here is quite a cluttered lump :\

Side note, this whole gostek was mainly modified from my old Knights Templar plate armor gostek, as seen below.

I think they aer too bright, but it can be that I think so because of the dark background. But those gosteks look nice! Absolutly nice!

agreed, i was quite concerned that if i put the gostek in a somewhat bright background, the details would be hard to see, hence the dark background ;) Thanks anyway XD

Sexy, but not very cartoony. We'll see how it looks in-game.

I'm with Gnoblar on this, although they are really nice they are not as cartoony as I had hoped they would be...

The main reason for that I think is, that most of Gnoblars work is cel shaded which makes these look "overly detailed".

One more thing that I forgot... AWESOME Vid Gnoblar  ;)  I really enjoyed watching it  :)

I suggest using no shading. Use only 4 or 5 colors for the gosteks and it should be fine.

and you probably should outline the parts with black (that will make it look more like it fits with the mod).

huge problem when outlining gosteks, is that it takes TOO much space. Even if its 1 pixel.  a good outline would be 1/3 pixels wide.

Ill try the cel shading idea as you guys suggested. Ive always did'nt like undetailed things, hence why i always do 'overly detailed' and messy gosteks.

From: February 17, 2010, 02:11:47 pm
Alright, dunno if you can see from here, but ive reduced the number of tones by about 2 fold. Also increased contrast between specific regions so you woun'dt see a lump in-game

Very sexy.

You know you can make them larger right? There's no need to keep exact soldat sizes, look at my scenery.

I'm very greatful scout, thank you.

This mod rocks.

Chaos castle pics coming soon. Maybe a new video as well. Maybe so delicious fruit juice thrown in.

"Glorious Morning" By Waterflame, you may have heard it from the flash game "Age or War".

Waterflame also did a whole ton of music for Castle Crashers.

I got it from his Newgrounds page.

You know you can make them larger right?

if i actually tried enlarging the gosteks itself, the knight won't look like a knight.. but more of an extremely fat knight with size issues. Think about it, you would'nt want knights to be hugely fat don't you? :P

Another work around is to decrease the size of the sceneries and create the illusion the map(s) are much larger than they look from just pictures.

I suppose I could do that.

I've already severely downgraded true size, but some things mist remain huge for cartoon effect (castles).

Fat knights would be funny, but no awesome. Anyway of elongating them?

New Video added. It'll be the last one of that sort.

Did some work on the interface today. Did some weapon-gfx.

Found some sounds.

I HATE doing the weapons-gfx

nope, gostek graphics are all afixed to one area. so if tried making long thighs for the knights, it would overlap the shin area, same goes for the chest, head, etc, etc.

New Video added.
watched the video, and i must say, i love how the castle is coming around, and the songs' are really  addictive too O.o

Back to topic,  ill start on the black knights asap. hopefully i can finish em within an hour or so.
