Looks great so far.
More details on that please? Are you actually trying to make Soldat run on mac as a stand-alone program?  (which would be awesome, in that case good luck)
Or are you trying to get it working with an emulator? (in this case - dont think you should bother. AFAIK, it is already possible to get it working that way.)

He's running in Crossover, which is built on WINE (normally run on Linux) and ported to OSX (now that its x86) but commerical.
Soldat on Linux: It does work! Need help?

Just to put this back on topic, it's attached (Big file).

Also, the easy part of making soldat go on a mac/lux is getting it working, the hard part (afaik) is getting battleye working.

Hmmm, so crossover will run this fine (without the BE stuff)? I know it runs fine on Boot Camp.

My macbook has some problems running it in crossover. Half the time the graphics are messed up, and as iDante said, battleye is intolerant of this sort of thing.

Meh, 1.4 on Crossover works fine (I don't know about battleeye.) But, I can't even get the start screen to load on 1.5. Well, it loads, but the buttons have no labels and you can't click anything.

I couldn't just let this thread die without contributing to it.

A few months ago I tried to run Soldat with Parallels (Guest OS Windows XP SP2) on an 24" iMac and it ran with 49 FPS and had no drawing, control and BE issues.
Ok I had to use a normal mouse because the default one was difficult to use - one reason was that the middle mouse button for throwing didn't work well.
I think assigning the middle mouse button for drop weapon didn't work (workaround editing the soldat.ini "Drop=mb2". mb2 stands for middle mouse key).

So if you have a good Mac you can play Soldat if not well maybe someday you can play an open soldat like alternative.

Hope that helps.

Shoozza, are you VERY sure you had no BE problems with parallels?

Do note that it takes about 10 minutes for BE to update, but after that you shouldn't be able to enter any BE protected server.

Yes it works with Battleye.

I played two Soldat knife only maps today on Mac OS X with Parallels and BE didn't ban me.
But what I noticed was that the tab key can cause problems (minimizing Soldat etc).
When you use it correctly it works like it should (I think you have to use option+tab but at some time just tab worked too).

Another thing I noticed was that the FPS Soldat calculates seem to be higher then the ones I feel.
The game feels somehow laggy and the controls too however its possible to play a full game.
But I'm used to 300-500 FPS.

IT'S BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

I'm getting a new mac later this year. If it's working with Parallels, then I'm gonna be so happy. Of course I have my big rig to play on, but it's a bonus. Thanks guys.

Just curious, Shoozza, are you running parallels on a boot camp partition?

offtopic* My brother had that background once for his desktop picture. Dunno where it came from but it's about inverted map. etc. Instead of sea, it's land and instead of land, it's sea.
