Something I wanted to say:
I have been working on making Halo Brute Gosteks for a Long time now, and have wasted numerous hours trying to get them to look right, so here's an offer for all you modders out there, If you make a set of brute gosteks and they look (reasonably) good then I can post the beta copy of the mod, and to express my thanks I will also send you a little "surprise" pack with some "other" little Halo goodies.

I'm terribly sorry for my halo noobishness, but what is a brute?
I have only played the first halo online, and never played the campaign.
Here was all that I could find, but it didn't give me any good reference images...

so now you know

(just as a note part of the gift for making the brute is "extra" weapons for the mod)

BTW try to make a good grayscaled texture for gosteks, I see that the gosteks that you have are really elaborated, I hope they'll be similar :]

yes brutes are bigger then Elites, but you cant make gosteks taller so you just have to live with it unfortunately.

and I have made grayscales for them, its just I can't get the look right.

Why not make The Flood gosteks instead of brutes? Brutes will look ridiculous considering the scale difference. The Flood are shorter and would actually look cool for zombie mods and what not.

The fact is (at least as far as I know) that goseks cant be made any taller then they already are.

So make thinner alpha gosteks and buffer bravo. You still have some nice space in head, shoulders and arms area.

I kind of was hoping that someone else would try to make a set of brute gosteks, there is a reward yah know....

because I've scraped like 2 sets that failed already and I'm kind of getting sick of making gosteks(Its like my least favorite part of modding).

I can make good gosteks in terms of shape but not taller x2 times. Even Taehl's Alien had some issues with height and flaws in it (some static parts for different sides). You can abuse limits and make 2x taller things but with less interactivity - if we still talking about online gosteks without modified animations and because of that, sometimes I call them skins because they are just different gfx skin for the same default object (in ex. Soldat\Objects\gostek.po) or animation (in ex. Soldat\Anims\stoi.poa).

Well I didn't know you were focused ENTIRELY on ODST, still, brutes won't look anything like normal.
Can't you settle for other aliens?
You could do other things as side projects, cause there's too many Halo mods, if you want to be original try something different than the standards.

No one has ever made brute gosteks before as far as I know, so that's fairly "original".

theres really no point in trying to follow the correct size of the brutes. id say, just screw the size, and do the gostek. The shocck troopers won't look nice if resized accordingly, they'd look scrawny, worst of all, theres too much loss in detail.

You can't always have what you want in a mod, you would need to sacrifice things in order to make it work, thats what i always follow when doing gosteks.
