I'm willing to bet that humans, as a species, will leave this planet before there's any real "end", and this is because natural disasters will become too fierce and too frequent for us to put up with. What's the point of living here if the Earth itself is slowly wiping us out?

Seriously though - I wouldnt worry about the sun. It'll take a long time til something happens to it, so we've got a plenty of time to colonize the whole space. That is if we don't kill ourselves before that. Once many galaxies are colonized, humans on different planets will become more and more different not only physically, but mentally too. Differences will lead to misunderstandings, conflicts, wars, until eventually someone manages to get the biggest guns of all and pwn most of the human (and non-human) races.

That is as far as I got in my time machine before waking up.

As for my own death - I think death is a part of life, so it doesn't scare me much. It's the process that's not very pleasant. Another thing that bothers me is that someone could find my kiddie porn after I die. Now that scares me.

No seriously, you can't even guess what we're going to die from. Radiation, killing ourselves with nukes, natural disasters such as storms, tsunamis, earthquakes, or maybe an asteroid will hit earth, land in the water and drown us all.

I'd shoot myself in a zombie apocalypse. Honestly, seriously, zombies would be mindf**kingly horrific. Head-shotting my neighbors and the paranoia of being ripped up or bit would drive me insane.
