Modification:


- No gameplay changes: Polygons/scenery/colliders/spawns are exactly at same positions as before (except a few sticky polygons/polybugs)
- No major scenery changes: Changed white bgs in flag, added white ropes at the top
- Improved polygon look: No more BRIGHT red/blue, and some other stuff

Download, it's also playable at #soldat.mapping (ctf_Kampf2)

I'm diggin it, but maybe those background in the inaccesible areas could work better being a bit more darker? And those flag area backgrounds slightly brighter.

At the middle area, maybe add some extra scenery like ropes hanging down or something that just gives a bit more atmosphere.

I actually like the new Kampf2 that you made! That should be the remake of kampf lol!

It certainly looks better, but I find the lower route's inaccessible area to be rather deceptive - it look as though it is accessible when it isn't.

omg, pls dont! your modification in post1 - sry - looks extremely ugly to me. :-X
I don't need any changes on this map and I always hated gaps/caves which you can't reach in soldatmaps.
the middle area is OK, but those gaps...  :|

Heh, well I just wanted fix the bright red/bravo colors + white bg at flag, that have always irritated me.

It doesn't need fixing since it's not really broken. It's just personal preference. I find the bright colors way more appealing than the grayish colours used in this and in the modified ctf_Run.

I mean those bright polys have irritated my gameplay. It's pretty much the same as players complaining about backgrounds of new maps. Check Kampf2 first and then change to original Kampf and you should see what I mean. At least I got flashed about so colorful polys. So yes more grayish look pleases the eye more.

I do understand your point but as I said it's only personal. I've never found colours such as in Kampf irritating.

I'm pretty sure bright background colours are making more players annoyed than issues of this kind.

cool, but the backpart of the red side doesnt look good at all, that strech stuff is annoying and some of the polygons are too flat
suggestion, change the background, steal the looks from Tae2, which is awesome imo

I like what you did below the map, and the "bridges" are ok
The external is not good, and the top has really badly colored polys
original kampf's polys always had at least one vertex maching a color with all neighbors (you could point top left, but it's not as bad as what you did)

if it needed to be changed i would have preferred the new version shown in this topic instead of the version that's currently in 1.5.1. the current version is just boring with the boring colouring and boring boring boring.

I don't see how dull grey and acid red and blue can be "interesting". Sure they're bright, but cmon, only kids fall for bright colors. ;P
I guess it's more a matter of personal preference, but I much prefer one that's in 1.5.1 right now. Colors might not be as bright, but there are more background sceneries and there is atmosphere. Default colors and shading just make it look like.. Polygons. Plain. Boring. Polygons.

No offense, suo. <_< The remake isn't bad, I just don't like that "default" style.

No offense, suo. <_< The remake isn't bad, I just don't like that "default" style.

And therefore it went over my modification.

I mainly just focused on keeping the same default style and adding some things there. But ye well, the result wasn't good in this case.

the new kampf (1.5.1e, not this one) is almost good, although I'd still prefer the visuals from the original with those blank sceneries darkened and the red/blue base colours dimmed. There's really no need to go over the top on this one.

Well, yes it is. If both teams are well balanced, it is almost impossible to humiliate the opponent, since both dominate the middle with ease. And invading the flag and it is hard to get away. I suggested, however, that the places of the flag were the same, ie with the same format. Red is totally vertical, blue is diagonal.

By the way, i love Kampf and Nuubia!

To me red base seems more vulnerable. Left side of top route is easier to move around (and therefore increases your chances of surviving there), flag spot is easier to access and easier to escape by nade-boosting straight up. Left half of the middle route is more straight and is easier for blue to snipe/spray.
Although on the other hand.. middle route is better protected on the blue side, but that also makes it harder for blues to defend it.

Gah, it's really hard to tell whether this map is balanced or not. +_X But to be honest, I don't care. I play for fun, and I have lots of fun on this map.
