show a "next respawn wave" timer
« on: December 02, 2009, 03:57:25 pm »
i think it would be nice if u could see how much time is left before the enemy team respawns so u will know exactly when to rush to the flag. its better rather than rush only to see their whole team respawns and kicks your ass.

Well first of all.. players don't respawn in "teams". Each player has his own respawn time, not dependant on his teammates.

Second - it doesn't really matter when your enemy respawns. When you kill your enemy - the best time to rush for flag is "right now". The sooner you get the flag - the better.

Care to explain? I've played long enough and don't remember mass team spawns, except when multiple teammates were killed at the same time.

Bots are a different story. Some servers may also be different. In all i think that the random spawns are a must. It keeps things exciting.

Unless the wave respawntime happens to be extremely high, you won't ever really notice the wave respawns occurring.

As for this suggestion, F11. I can't really see this being fair, really. If anything, it'd help people spawning, but it wouldn't help someone on the other side of the map, especially when they don't know which wave you're going to spawn in anyway (but that kind of information is not required for the player. If they're close enough, they can see you spawn, and that's the only time this idea would come in handy).

Know when people respawn to know when to rush? No offense, but did your momma drop you on the head or something? I say again, no offense intended, but that's just plain stupid...
You rush when you want to cap...So basically always.

thats exactly what i mean- "So basically always"- thats the problem.
instead of rushing each time and all the time, u will be able to plan ur moves and not always rush. the goal of my suggestion is only to make the game a bit more tactic rather than rushing like a maniac

I'll still F11 it for that reason. Soldat is an action game, not a tactical game.

I actually don't think soldat can do wave respawning. If that was put in, it would give a massive advantage, depending on how it was used. Soldat is too fast paced for that kinda stuff anyway...
