Why I pretend Soldat doesn't exist IRL. Is Soldat's strangeness its own undoing?

The few people who have internet, and a good enough connection for games, play those types of games.

Dual boot? afaik the new intel macs can and apple supplies you with the correct windows drivers.

Just because I'm part of the official Soldat staff doesn't mean I need to be a walking talking Soldat billboard, or that I should refrain from posting what I really feel about my favorite game.

Still really strange in my opinion. I used to mention Soldat at every lan hahah even everyone is laughing at me cause its a cool game even in 2D. We can get more players like that, with some advertising or the community and this game will die slowly.

I was introduced to Soldat by a friend and oddly enough, he quit years ago and I still play sometimes.

As others have said, the game atm is too buggy to try persuade friends to play it (again).. for example; the names not displaying properly in the deathmatch gamemode. Once those have been fixed I'll probably mention it if a conversation about gaming pops up. I also dislike games with 'epic' graphics but mediocre gameplay. For me, gameplay comes first.

The graphics sucked ass, in comparison to the graphic miracles of today.
And yet I'd rather play HL another 100 times all over, than other titles like say, Fallout 3, L4D, etc etc...

Played the original but only maybe after 8 years after its release - I was too young and nooby to understand such games back then. Had a really good time when I finally got to it though. Classic. <3
I think why older games were awesome is because what we consider ordinary now - was revolutionary back then. Old games might not have awesome graphics/physics/whatever, but they hold lots of good memories.

Soldat too is revolutionary in a way. Think of all the Soldat clones out there.

Lol revolutionary. My friend keeps telling of soldat 3d and how its gonna be awesome(CS anyone?), why I don't know, because I have never heard of it. And I try telling him about normal soldat, and I get the same 'Dude, it's 2d...' bullshit.

There was some XBox 360 shooter which seemed a LOT like soldat (soldiers even had jets too), but I don't remember its name. :/

There's also TeeWorlds, which is actually quite decent but imo still not as good as Soldat. Subvein is a work-in-progress and is actually top-down view instead of side view, but it also has similarities with Soldat so I wouldn't be surprised if it was inspired by it.
