You don't see the overview when you're playing

Not sure what clout means.
That's not my problem. Google it.

In many cases you don't have to.

I did. Haven't found a definite answer. If you want me to care - that would be your problem then.

Do you honestly think this map looks bad?

Here you go bro. Not that it is very applicable anymore, albeit it may be useful to you someday somehow. Nothin' wrong with learning more vocabulary [shrug]
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/clout

You don't see the overview when you're playing
In many cases you don't have to.

But not in this case

Look, let me spell this out:
Okay, I look at Blue's map and my first impression is, "Hey, not bad." The texture was sublime enough for me not to notice it. My point is, it works. You have to (at least) agree on that.

So, I see people getting all hung up over it and think "What's the big ol' sneeze over?" Then, I kinda attacked you and it went from there. It was because my previous opinion of your mapping skills wasn't too high, and I saw that you are very damn opinionated. Did my research and I am now a changed man.

I still think you guys are hung over silly things. Yes, believe me I know, when a decent map is released, it means, "Yes, this map could be smacked into greatness." So I applaud all you folks for sharing you're high opinions when you used to have to 'buy' opinions from people.

I never said it was bad. I think it looks alright, it's just some things could be improved.
I didn't say a texture was that bad either. It could be better, but I agree that it works. Important thing is that it's not distracting.

If something really is bad, horrible, disgusting - I'll use those exact words - bad, horrible, disgusting. But if it's not - I'll never ever say such things. If you find me saying something like that about this map - feel free to shove those words back in my mouth. Well, except for this:
the rainbowish thingies look too random and have ugly color scheme.
If not - stop exaggerating things.. please?

I'll repeat, this map looks fine, and has a nice layout. There are things that don't look too good and could be improved, but nothing that is clearly bad.

If you want to make an artistic expression, go and DRAW something for Pete's sake.  Last time I checked, soldat was a GAME, and from what I recall, games are about GAMEPLAY, not looks.  Seriously, as long as you don't have seizure inducing textures, players are not really going to sit there and take notice to what your map looks like.  But you can be sure if your map is full of polybugs, a player isn't going to consider the fact that your map "looks pretty" when he starts bitching about them.  A player is hardly going to notice "oh that scenery placement is nice" when he has bullets and grenades flying at him, or a flag to return.  Sure, make your map look presentable, but don't focus so much on the looks that it ruins the fun of the map.
For signatures, you are allowed only one image in your signature which may not be wider and taller than 300 and 125 pixels, and may not be over 20kB in file size. No BMPs are allowed.

I personally would Fap12 to this too, but why do I think I'm hearing this same wisdom over and over again?
Because of everyone of you with your photoshopped solar-boners are always... ALWAYS comparing Soldat to games that are way
ahead in development where ofcouse, graphics are awesome as s**t. It's not and excuse for Soldat for being ugly looking ~ mm.. very true.
But it's also not a reason to discriminate Soldat's charm we once loved and took care of like loving mothers.
