It's hgard to even compare the 2 because the spawns aren't shown in the original, but visually I'll vote for the remake because it's more realistic with the new background in the fortress.

I got to admit: It always bugged me when I respawned because I was flying into the wrong direction, but it would be less distracting from the more realistic theme you chose if you´d just removed those arrows. You just need to fly into the direction in which the sun is to find the fortress.

I tried to do that trick with the sun, but fade was too smooth to easily see which direction it's coming from. Arrows do seem kind of out of place, but I couldn't think of anything else. :S

@Goth: How? I just use the minimap to find the way to the fortress, but not everyone is registered.

He probably means nicknames that are shown at the edge of the screen. Or when you spawn, you could follow your teammates if they spawn with you.
I use minimap too, but like you said, not everyone has it. :S

Maybe put some sideway clouds or stuff like in original version.

Yep, I use their nicknames to my advantage. Idk if thats a reg only feature or not, but it works for me.

The nicknames work for unregistered players, too, but not everyone is that "smart". There must be a possibility to tell the players where to go no matter if it´s a visable polygon (doesn´t collide) or an arrow.

Love the arrows. I personally don't have a problem finding the fortress (unless I'm really not paying attention), but good addition nonetheless.

I usually use the diagonal clouds. I think is faster to look at the center of the screen

Arrows don't bother me. This is a game after all, and that touch of arcade-ism is fun.
