Remake looks very promising. There are very few desert-themed DM maps (if there are any - don't remember..), and this one also has really nice multi-texturing.
My only concern is those islands' sceneries. Too opaque, way too much contrast with the rest of the map. Ruins at the bottom-middle look out of place too. Other than that it looks like a great remake.
If i could get my hands on the download of this remake - I might uh.. remake the remake to make it less distracting and meet the default map requirements.
